How can you say you are confident about another qb when looking at whats available in the draft and f.a.? there is absolutely no one out there that is guaranteed to be better than geno. And i don't say that as a compliment to geno, rather an indictment on the available options. i love the optimism around the board right now but there needs to be some brake pumping when it comes to the qb situation. There is a very real chance geno is the week 1 starter.
Here are the QBs I would consider trading for ,If there's a way to get Bradford we should do whatever we can,we have the best training facility in the league maybe Bradford would have a better chance at staying healthy over here Sam Bradford Mike Glennon Kirk Cousins
Cro, Spiller, trade for Cousins, sign or trade for Larry Fitzgerald. Let Harvin walk he ain't worth the cash he wants.
I'd feel better about it if there were more and better options, especially in the draft. I keep talking about Cutler, for example, but I know that would be difficult to pull off, and may not even be possible. Still I hope you are correct about the new regime.
Winston/Mariota >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Geno. The above was true in Pee Wee, Pop Warner, High School, College football and will be in the Pros.
Totally agree. Bradford could flourish under a well balanced attack, here in NY. If we do get him, however,, it would be even more imperative to significantly bolster our OL, which is a must in any event.
You guys are suggesting a trade for Kirk Cousins?? Really?? The guy that lost his job to Colt McCoy? I wouldn't trade a stick of gum for him. Not being Geno is not an upgrade. I cannot believe some of you fools are suggesting giving up something of value for Kirk Cousins.
I "rather" have them COMPETE to determine who gives us "the best chance to win" for the upcoming season as opposed to come in with preconceived notions that Geno is somehow automatically better because he's played 2 years in the league. If Pete Carrol had that kind of attitude, Russell Wilson would have never won the starting job as a rookie. Keep in mind that we will be running a completely new offense so Geno won't have the advantage of knowing the offense. Geno and whomever we drafted would be learning the offense for the first time and thus on equal footing from that stnadpoint.
Not disagreeing with you. My statement that you originally quoted is there are no options that are guaranteed better than geno. Thats still holds true regardless of who we pick in the 1st.
The term "no guarantee" can be applied whenever we are talking about a prospect that has yet to play a NFL game but you can ascertain who was the better prospect coming out. Also, if Geno were to end up being the better option over a Winston or Mariota in week 1 of the 2015 season, I don't see why there would need to be "some brake pumping" on optimism about the QB position in that scenario. I for one would be ecstatic about Geno finally "earning" a starting job for once and be totally "pump[ed]" about the future of the position.
Jameis Winston looks pro ready to me. The way he zips the ball into windows is really impressive. It's not something Geno was ever capable of in college. (Same with Sanchez). This prospect looks like a whole different QB species the Jets haven't discovered. The type that actually is capable of making some amazing plays and helping the team win a game. You better all hope Jameis falls.
Bradford yes, the other 2 I would never give up a pick for. Bradford would probably be a conditional pick and I think he's a worthy gamble.
I don't,I think a third rounder and a conditonal would do it for Bradford. He can be a franchise qb if he stays healthy. He hasn't played since 2013 but he looked good 14 tds 4 ints thru 7 games
Only his affiliation with Chan Gailey...I dont know if we need Spiller if we bring another OC. I really am not big on Gailey
