If the Eagles are going to pay a king's ransom they'll do it at the top of the draft. I expect the Bucs to be very oblique about their selection right up until the last minute. No signing their guy the day before the draft as team's have sometimes done.

That trade could be our Hershel Walker to Minnesota gold mine. If Marriotta is there at 6 and he could be I would call Philly and see how bad they want him.

If we trade out of taking Mariota I'll personally go to Floram Parkmand drop a hot steamer on McCagnans brand new desk.

Actually, this could allow Winston to fall to the Jets. If Chip wants to trade up for Mariota, let him do it.

If Mariota and Cooper are BOTH on the board who do we pick??

Would that trade still be such a lock??

Logistically, it makes no sense for Tampa to trade down to Philly with the likelihood that both Mariota and Winston will be gone by that time.
    Don't see them doing it.

Didn't read all the replies but you are INSANE if you think they would do something like that. I mean yes Washington super overpaid for RGIII and Atlanta paid a lot for Jones, but Eagles are not that desperate for a guy.

There is only two maybe three QBs this draft who will be taken in the first and none of those guys are so hyped up that I believe somebody would make this trade. At most I see us giving them six and we get there first this year there second, there third, and maybe a second or third the year after.

Doubt they would ever consider more than that.

The Bucs would have to be willing to go with Mike Glennon as the default at QB next year if they traded down. For 3 1sts plus an extra 2nd this year they'd do that in a heartbeat. Philly has the 20 pick. It's not like they're at the end of the 1st round or something.

Also it's not out of the ballpark that Kelly would do a Herschel Walker-lite trade to get Mariota if he really likes him. That Eagles team is loaded with talent right now and they're missing the QB he wants.

He could easily trade the 20th plus his 3rd and 4th for the 9 and then make the 3 1sts, including the 9 plus his 2nd for Mariota.

That Eagles team is far from loaded. Almost the entire D needs to be rebuilt, which is what kept them from a playoff birth. I'm sure Chip loves Mariota but he is not stupid and the thought of them trading to one is so beyond far fetched it's not worth thinking about. Now if Mariota drops to the 10 range then maybe it becomes a possibility for them.

If Chip Kelly doesn't get a QB he can trust the Eagles are capped at this point. He obviously doesn't trust Foles, despite his very strong 2013 performance. He doesn't trust Sanchez, who had more turnovers than any other NFL QB over the span of games he played. He's going to make some kind of move to get his QB. The question is whether he really likes Mariota as much as he is reputed too. You don't leave a major college program when you have that kind of talent playing for you as a freshman. So it's unclear how much he really likes Mariota. If it's a lot he's going to make a move for him, almost guaranteed.

Well if he doesn't improve his D he is capped as well. I would hope he trusts Foles more than he does his D and for that reason he cannot give up what it would take to get up to 1 or top 5 even. If he only cares about his O than he is doomed to the same fate that Rex was. He can win with Foles at QB, he cannot win with the D he has now.

Everyone seems to think that Chip Kelly wants an athletic QB in order exhaust the full potential of his offense. Yet the 3 QBs on his roster are all pocket passers. He had a chance at drafting Geno, an athletic QB with experience in the spread, and elected to pass TWICE! I'm sure he would love to get MM if he fell within an attainable range but the thought that he would or should move heaven and earth to get him, is ridiculous to me. There are articles now suggesting he should package Shady and picks to get Mariota…LOL.

I dont understand why Philly would want to trade with us to get Mariota. If anything, they'd probably want to jump us and Washington to get him. If Philly wants to trade the house for MM, they'll probably make a trade with Oakland.

Why? What's wrong with trading with the Jets? It makes sense.

They are going to be giving up a lot to get him with whom ever they trade with. The Jets make sense, since we are still rebuilding.

First of all, the Jets would have to decide that they're not impressed with Mariota's pro-projection and feel that Nick Foles would give them more of a chance going forward. Because if the Jets like the potential of Mariota and feel that he could be a great NFL QB even after sitting for a season, then they have to take him if he's there at 6. However, if they don't, then might as well get a QB they do like.

If the Eagles are really all-in on Chip Kelly, and it appears they are, then I think a move from 20 to 6 if Mairota is there is completely possible. The three obvious pieces of the deal would have to be #20, #52 and Nick Foles. Next year's 1st would be ideal, but next year's 2nd and an additional relatively high pick this year or next would suffice.

Hey, if the Bills gave up their next year 1st round pick to move up for a WR, then the Eagles could very well do the same for a QB who would seem to be the one perfect fit for what Chip Kelly wants to do on offense. And it could very well be worth it for the Eagles

Agreed here. I think it's unlikely that Washington would draft a QB so high anyway. If Mariota isn't drafted 1 or 2, then he's very likely going to fall to 6 IMO.

I agree, the only issue I see with that is if Oak really loves Cooper and they don't want to be drafting 20.
