NO way he hits FA. but if Devin McCourty where tool he would be Excellent fit.. would have no problem bring Cro back on a 1yr to 2 yr deal

i agree, but stating that confidence in the new regime will dwindle if geno is the starter when none of the qb's available are a lock to be better is what i was contesting

I was stating that as a minimum requisite.

Signing a vet FA can't hurt. Milliner and McDougie both are coming off ACL tears; we need insurance and depth at CB.

I want to see what McDougle does too. I really liked what I saw on this kid's college film, and was expecting good things from him last season. Then the injury, and we still don't know for sure what the Jets have in him. I agree with you that If McDougle and Milliner, (I will call them The Green M&M's) can stay healthy and play up to their potential, then the holes in the secondary have become less burdensome. Of course that is a big if, but certainly possible.

dude they're nickname is obviously Dexter and Dee Dee, i mean clearly…

cant hurt? its a necessity! too much inexperience and youth is one of the secondaries big problems at the moment.

I like dexter and dee dee's potential but they BOTH got hurt and are on inexpensive deals.

we could actually really use a 30something on this roster to show the younger guys how its done, or to play at their behest. should've been Cro last year, but for some reason ji wouldn't budge….

signing one Corner hitting his prime like Byron Maxwell, kareem jackson or perish cox, and/or signing another older corner is a must.ut they BOTH got hurt and are on inexpensive deals

No idea what the new management will bring in. But one thing is for certain, the new front office and coaching staff (as it's shaping up) is made up of dyed in the wool football people who have a scouting background, I think even Bowles early in his post player career worked in personnel scouting department for a year or 3.

and I like that, finally a front office developing around scouting and player evaluation.

We definitely need 1 CB that can come in and start and another CB like Cromartie who can play until Dee proves himself.

    FA1
    Cro/other vet
    Dee
    Williams
    McDougle
    Mid/Late Draft Pick/Walls

Anything will be better than expecting a guy like Dimitri Patterson to start no way Mac is as dumb as Idzik.

they have to sign someone. two guys who last fulls seasons to injury, basically, are too great a risk to take going into a season. they might be fine, but you have to make provision for them if they are not.

my gut feeling is that sooner or later Dee Milliner will be cut by Todd Bowles and follow Rex to the Bills.

I'm not saying it will happen this year, but i think within the next 2 years. Dee is bound to get injured again or look absolutely helpless.

I'm of the opinin that a QB is going to be the most important FA acquisition this team can make. If the jets can get someone to play QB, improve the redzone scoring, eliminate pick 6es, contribute at a higher level than Geno, you will see a quick turnaround.

Even if you bring back cromartie, the only thing that will do is make the passing defens a little better, it does not eliminate the problem this team has been struggling with for the past 6 years, the offense, primarily the qb play.

The CB situation was a need under rex because his defensive scheme relied on having elite CB play. While Bowles uses the 3-4, I'm not sure if his defensive scheme relies on elite CB play to work, looking at the numbers from the cardinals defense, his most productive players were linemen, OLB, and safety.

of course QB is most important. Problem is there's barely any options.

    Top QB FAs:
    Matt Moore
    Jake Locker
    Mark Sanchez
    Mike Vick
    Brian Hoyer
    Ryan Mallet
    Blaine Gabbert

    Trade Bait:
    Mike Glennon
    Jay Cutler
    RG3

    Top Draft Prospects:
    Mariota
    Winston
    Bryce Petty
    Brett Hundley

They won't get Mariota or Winston. I personally think Jay Cutler and RG3 are aweful. Mike Glennon is a backup. Sanchez is going to Bills (and I wouldn't want him back). Hoyer is not a good QB.

I don't completely like the idea, but at this point I think they should either keep Mike Vick or draft Bryce Petty.

***The Jets hired executive Gene Smith who was responsible for drafting Blaine Gabbert in the first round for the Jags. Dare I say there's a very good chance Gabbert comes here. Cry now***

Blaine Gabbert is one of the worst QBs I have ever seen. He is hands down the worst option out of everyone you listed. I'd give Locker a one year "prove it" deal and let him battle it out with Geno. It may help both of them, and I can't see any team really giving Locker a sizable deal.

Yes I'm crying, thanksfor the list, it's pretty bad.

I know you said hoyer sucks but i would take him over Vick at this point, after seeing Vick and how uninspired he played, I don't think he has anything left in the tank.

Hoyer contributed to his team being in playoff contention, i would give him a chance, if he wants to come to the jets.

If I'm not mistaken, Hoyer had the lowest QB rating in one of the last months of the regular season. He actually deceived a lot of people with his play since the Defense kept them in some games.

Don't let the Hoyer bandwagon crew fool you....he's not a starter. As I said, I'm not a fan of re-signing Vick, but at this point what else is there to do.

I take your word for it, in never saw him play, only highlights. However the defense is supposed to keep the games close, and give the offense a chance to win it, that's it a bad thing.

I'll do some research, because I thought he was injured also in one of the games and left in the first quarter with a head injury. That's something else the jets don't need is to bring in a qb who is fragile or has concussion issues.

I still think Matt Moore is our best option, he is a solid QB and that's what we need. Someone who doesn't give games away.

Of all the QB FA, I'm thinking Matt Moore is the most interesting. His numbers weren't terrible when he started for Miami (although 14 fumbles in 13 games in 2011 is a worry). He's not wet behind the ears, but not ancient. Plus he'd know Miami backwards. Bring him in, and you get a real competition with Geno, no?

Of all the guys on the list,,,,and I hate them all,,,,Locker is the best of the worst in my eyes,,,,,and I don't want him either. Is there a team out there that we are somehow over looking that is loaded at QB and we can make a trade with ? I don't see it,,,,,otherwise we might have to take our chances in the second or 3 rd round and hope we strike gold . Can smith really be our starter next year ? I sure as hell hope not.
