Smart man. I ranked the HC candidates like this: 1. Dan Quinn 2. Sean McDermott 3. Todd Bowles (followed by a bunch of mediocre-at-best candidates) Having said that, I'm content with Bowles. Would have preferred Quinn or McDermott, but we might have gotten the best one anyway. The more I read about Bowles, the more I like him. I guess those reports about Quinn wanting to join the Jets were bogus after all...
I'm fairly glad Quinn didn't get the job here. I can't read his name without thinking Daria's sister is the HC.
Incompetent owner, the worst QB in the NFL, terrible media that makes the running the Jets an impossible job. Let's be honest they kiss the Giants backside but go out of their way to rail road the Jets with every story. Why would any HC want this job? It's why we've only hired washed up has beens or completely unqualified first time HC's.
So what should happen? Fold or move the franchise? What did Woody do wrong? Got two guys who are football people, and found one of the best available coaches on the market. A highly reguarded canidate. If these 2 guys work out we will be back into the thick of things
Two guys who are "football people" what does that even mean? Woody is incompetent because he routinely makes terrible hires and creates a circus around his team. How is Bowles one of the best candidates on the market? A mediocre defensive coordinator with the 24th ranked defense and no clue on offense or team building?
What "football people" means is this. They both were experenced GM's who spent the time interviewing the candidates to help find the best fit for the team and situation. I'm guessing your a frustraited REX fan? Who should Woody have hired? What should he have done? What will fix this in your mind? Fold or move the team?

Anyone making a 6 figure salary in the NFL or as a past player are "football people" John Idzik was "football people" Rex Ryan was "football people", it means nothing, it's a platitude... What will fix this team? A franchise QB and a coaching staff that doesn't suck... Will Bowles suck? Probably, most first time HC's do, do we have a QB? No. Mccagnan? did you ever hear of this guy prior to a couple weeks ago? Be Honest? Coming from the Texans? WOW he has some resume. None of these guys have any qualifications to be hired as GM or HC, at this point it's just a wing and prayer.
