Greene was garbage and the Titans have found that out quickly too. The guy had a 4.0 YPA running behind one of the best 3 offensive lines in the NFL. He had the one big playoff game in San Diego but beyond that he did nothing. He will be lucky to even be in the league next year.

Greene was not garbage, he helped us reach 2 title games.

when our OL sucked in 2012 he nearly averaged 4.0 YPC, last year in Ten he averaged 4.2. Is he great? of course not but he was a key guy for us and he had more than the one run at SD.

Trading up for Greene was a mistake.

I don't blame him for every pick by any means. Just 4 picks later the Jets got Demario Davis who is a key part of out defense. I blame him because his overall body of work is terrible. If you want to build a winner you need to find hidden gems in rounds 3 - 7. And I'm not saying a ton of them either. You look at a team like the Patriots or Ravens and they seem to find about 1 per season, which may not seem like much but 1 guy playing at a high level, on almost no salary can make a massive difference.

Right, you never know who we would have drafted. I just remember thinking we needed the additional picks. We gave up a lot in that draft.

It's also easy to say Bradway wanted Wilson, who we didn't take, but he also was very high on Hill, while Rex really wanted Jeffery, and we ended up with Hill. Everyone is going to be right on some and wrong, but IMO Bradway is just wrong way too often.

Tannenbaum was a gambler, he gave up too many picks going for it. In a perfect world there would be a happy medium btw Idzik's not move approach and Mike's move too much approach.

just so you know we have had more success 2001-presetn than any other decade long stretch in our history and TB has been a big part of that.

Well, just saying we had success and that TB had a big part of it kinda ignores a couple of things:

    1. Our history is not very good. So, you're really damning with faint praise on that one.
    2. You really haven't mentioned any specific thing that Bradway has done to be a "big part" of the success.

If you're wanting to hero worship Terry Bradway, fine. But don't argue that he's been good or a big part of the franchise's success without mentioning any specific acts that he's done.

    1. Our history w/ TB is good. Outside of the top teams(NE, Indy, Bal, Pitt) we have probably been the next best franchise in the AFC over that timeframe.
    2. so when we have success he's not a part of it but when you don't now what he did for the failures he's the one to blame? I don't get it.

There's no worship, I look at it realistically, I don't need a scapegoat.

why do I need to provide specifics but you don't?

And what do all 4 of those teams have in that 15 year stretch that the Jet's don't?

Atleast 1 Super Bowl win and multiple Super Bowl appearances.

You could make a case that nearly any of the 12 other teams in the conference in that time frame except for the Bills and Browns have been the best after those teams. If Bradway even had 1 AFC title under his belt, I think you could easily make the case the Jets have been the best AFC franchise after those 4, but without that we are just another team not named the Patriots, Ravens, Steelers, or Colts.

Bradway is a goof. I have no idea how he has survived this long within the Jets organization other than to intimate that maybe he does his best work "under" a desk...??

Having said that his overall body of work in identifying talent is more than suspect at best. One poster aptly pointed out that teams like New England etc...always seem to find those diamonds in the rough late in the draft...or not even drafted for that matter. The only piece of talent the Jets have has as of late is Snacks and that is DIRECTLY attributed to Rex Ryan. Other than that we have had next to nothing. In fact, we spend plenty of our top of the draft picks "whiffing" in the wind as well...let along rounds 4 - 7. Our 1st through 3rd picks are generally shit having definitely not batted 50% over the last full decade and absolutely have some of the leagues 'all time' busts in that tenure as well.

No, our scouting department needs/needed to be fully gutted as in absolutely 100% everyone gone. To some other posters whimpering about the Russell Wilson pick...if a man is that "convinced" of a talent he either puts his job on the line to ensure the pick is made or he leaves. I didn't see Bradway leave and we do not have Russell Wilson...in fact I would bet that those reports were bull shit.

I thought I did provide specifics: I noted the draft failures in the first through third rounds, by name.
"outside of the top teams..." Well, that's about as faint a praise as can be: outside of the steadily successful teams. Well, that's how one should measure success: Are you one of those teams? Not are you close to being one of those teams?

It's like you're accepting of spam and trying to call it steak.

And, I would say he was fired as GM because someone believed he was not good at it. And I can look at the Jets roster--the draft choices made under his watch, both as GM and as director of scouting, and make the argument that we are NOT one of the most talented teams. I could further argue that a greater than average percentage of our impact players weren't even drafted.

All the arguments that have been successfully made about John Idzik apply to Terry Bradway, only the talent acquisition deficiencies can be argued more effectively against him, since he is most closely aligned with making grades for the dreck we've taken.

You and I disagree...every single one of the Jets playoff wins are a testament to Rex Ryan's coaching ability...and nothing more. You can flush that thought process right down the drain there buddy. You KNOW better.

but you have no idea if he had anything to do with those picks. for al we know he wanted different players and they didn't listen. You are assuming. all we can go by are the results and the results have been mostly good since he became a part of this organization under very difficult circumstances by the way.
