You can argue that he hasn't received enough of the blame

I could pretty much guarantee he would not have the success he has had in Seattle in New York... Not with these morons we had the past 5 years on the coaching staff/front office.

I'm not knocking Rex. I would have been thrilled if the front office changes taking place now would have happened with him still here. I always felt the Jets would win a Super Bowl with Rex if the talent hadn't crashed after the 2010 season. I felt that the decision to roll with Santonio Holmes and to dump Braylon Edwards was the first in a long line of bad personnel decisions that led us to today.

Your entire analysis is based on taking out the good picks though. So basically your only counting the bad ones. Why would I take out the Wilkerson, Richardson, and Amaro picks? Those are pretty important.

I dont think we know enough about what goes on inside the draft rooms. I have no problem with him getting fired if thats what happens.

I will say this... neither Bradway(in his turn at GM) Tannenbaum or Idzick came in and said they wanted to clean house in the scouting dept. Its obvious that Casserly & Wolf told Woody that that's where the problem is. And it looks like they're going to address it. So kudos to Maccagnan (and Woody). But, I agree with some that Bradway will somehow survive the purge. I read recently that he will be representing the Jets at the Senior Bowl.

Hindsight 20/20 and plus, there is no way Wilson is anywhere near the player he currently is if we drafted him. Hell, he'd probably be out of the damn league lol.

It's gonna be hard to fire a scouting department right now with the draft coming up in about 4 months. If they do, they gotta move fast and Mac has to hire his own guys very fast. They'll have their work cut out for them no matter what they do.

So 3 above average players since 2008 is good? If you cant see that the Jets have sucked since 2012 due to poor drafting then I can't help you.

Yes, I think certain guys will stay for a while in the transition phase, but it sounds like there will be major changes.
But four months is a long enough period for Maccagnan to have a real impact on this draft.

That's not saying much. It's a very putrid history.

He drafted a kicker in the 2nd round. That's enough for me right there.

The old crew can go home and collect a check until after the draft then while the new crew signs their contract and start right away unless they are under contract to another team. I am sure the current contracts do not state they have to stay in position, only that they get paid until that time.

Sheldon Richardson and Wilkerson are more than above average players. They're both top players at their position throughout the league. If you can't see that then I cant help you. Revis was a top player at his position, Mangold is a top player at his position, Ferguson has been a very good LT for us.

Your ignoring the overall body of work and trying to focus soley on the negative. Thats not a smart way to evaluate somebody. The last 4 years have been a complete failure. I'm not saying Bradway deserves to keep his job, but your making a lot of assumptions and placing all the blame on one guy.

It's also been consistent in the fact that tit's 8-8, 6-10, 9-7, 8-8, 4-12, 10-6 - there's bad consistency and there's good consistency. They have been 'bad' consistency because they are consistently mediocre.

If you figure his new guys are probably scouting in some capacity elsewhere it does not seem like a big transition. Question will be are they under contract to someone else that would limit their move.

I never said they weren't elite. But look at the elite teams. Yes they have QBs. Compare their drafts from 2008-2014 to ours. Guarantee they have more than 2 blue chip players. Those drafts should be the lifeblood of the team. Still paying for the sins of the 2009-2011 championship run failed drafts and they haven't gotten much better after Tannenbaum left.

    It's not 4 years it's now 8 years.

They're all fist round picks. If you want to really evaluate his body of work, look beyond the first round. Comparatively, it's much harder to "fail" in the first round than it is in later rounds. There's been zero success in the 2nd round and the later rounds have brought nothing.

You can give just as much of the credit to the GM who took his information and made the right picks as you can Bradway for offering them up.
