    - I did not like the power Casserly wielded over the whole process. According to reports, both Maccagnan and Bowles were his people, and he is both a guy who has no vested interest in the Jets beyond a consultant's fee and a guy with a spotty recent history. There is a saying, it's not what you know but who you know, and I hope that doesn't come back to bite us in the ass.
    - Not sure what logic exactly was used to select Maccagnan. The only stuff I am hearing right now is iffy. He is a young guy without any history of running an entire organization, so the only thing he could've been evaluated on is his draft record, which in his 3 years of running the Houston scouting department has been very pedestrian. Maybe they know something about him that we don't like maybe like Bradway, he supposedly asked them to draft a stud every time but they didnt listen, but maybe they just couldn't find anyone after firing a GM 2 years in.
    - Bowles was one of the better candidates available, I think, and I like him better than Marrone for example, but overall, I much preferred Quinn. The biggest reason is that I am fed up with blitzing after 6 years of Rex, and this guy blitzes even more. I loved Quinn's simpler approach, of running simple schemes and letting players play at high speed with great fundamentals in those simple schemes, instead of trying to confuse the QB.

I hear you, GGB, but Woody Johnson did need to bring in some outside help for this. And whoever he brought in would tend to recommend people that they have hired in the past or worked with in the past. I'd rather have him be advised to hire from among a pool of competent people, even if that advice is skewed, rather than have Woody try to figure it out on his own. Wolf and Casserly are also better than the "executive search firm" that the Jets hired to get Idzik - I'd rather him take advice from actual NFL experts rather than generalized business experts.

Mac has a lot of experience on the scouting side, and he is well-regarded and respected in the league. We'll find out how good he is in the next ~3 years, but I feel much more confident about him than I'd feel about Idzik.

Do we really think Casserly went with Bowles because he played for him when he was GM? Sounds like someone trying to force a narrative down our throats if you ask me.

There are a lot of people not named Casserly speaking highly of the guy.

What's gonna happen with our team Pres? Is he still here or did he clean out his corner office?

I was thinking like 5 wins until I found out that Chain Gailey was the OC.

I didn't like Rex either. I was really pulling for Quinn.

Just so we can all laugh... what do you think our record would have been with Quinn if our record with Bowles is going to be 0-16?

So Chan Gailey, a highly respected OC throughout the NFL for over 2 decades, is equivalent to -5 win/loss by your calculations?

    OK bud. Please explain.....

Wolf hired Bowles to his first non-player job so it's not just all Casserly

8-8 best. This team is a disaster on offense, gonna take a bit to fix that.

Maybe I am being too negative.

So the dropoff from Quinn to Bowles is 8 wins to 0 wins?

    MAYBE you're being too negative?
