Potentially but if the fanbase becomes impatient due to a slow start, then Woody will cave in and we have to start over again.
Bradway is getting the boot, our coaching staff has evolved into a beast.. We actually can look forward to our drafts now with confidence due to our new GM.. And knowing he's been a real scouting specialist his whole football life. I know people might kill me for this but im ready to give Geno another shot with Gailey I think this is when he will be able to play to his comfort level and his style of ball. If we can cut percy, use that money on a pass rusher or lineman and get Cooper I'd be excited! Sign snacks and iupati.. We'll be in good shape.
Why cut Percy? He's a good route runner and deep threat. If you want to develop a young qb you do not fans away guys he's developed chemistry with.
I think we are much worse off now. I don't know how the new GM and coaching staff will do, only time will show, but make no mistake about it, after the stunt they pulled with Idzik, the Jets have turned into the NFL Knicks and Woody into Dolan. There will be no rebuilding, no long term plans, no correct approach to running a sports team. I fully expect them to return to the later Tanenbaum years, doing all kinds of short term moves to lube the media and the fans up instead of building a winner.
Even with the ridiculous slanted wording to make people vote no its still a landslide in favor of Yes. Give it up. Idzik sucked and it was time to move on from Rex.
I hope that most Jets fans, regardless of any preconceived notions or preferences, will give the new crew a clean slate and judge them based on what they do or do not accomplish here. We should keep in mind that we're dealing with a rookie GM and rookie HC and there will be growing pains. The important thing will be whether they learn from there mistakes. Give them a chance.
I can't vote on either. There is good and bad with both options. How about I put it this way...my own two options: Geno still under center...HELL no! I don't know
Just from Terry Badway being shown the door along with his useless staff of incompetents, we're already ahead of the game.
As much as I liked Rex, Idzik has set this franchise back years with his incompetence. The dude was WAY over his head and he cost us big time. Last years draft with 12 picks and coming away with relatively nothing--in one of the best years in recent times for QBs and an otherwordly WR class was grossly negligent. Having a real "football" guy in charge hopefully wipes away some of the stink that was Idzik. Loved Rex but it was time to go. Yeah, we're better today then we were last month. _
That's what I was thinking. We've seen several coaching staffs roll through here under Woody but Bradway has been a constant since Woodys second year. It's about time they evolved in the scouting department. This development is by far what I'm most excited about right now. I don't know if the new GM will be a good drafter, but philosophically the team is better than it was yesterday. The franchise is moving in the right direction.
There was an old movie, I think from the sixties, one of those all star cast films about a rallye car race, and there's this great line. This guy jumps into an open two seater, with someone already in the passenger/navigator seat. He reaches up, grabs the rearview mirror, tears it off the windshield and throws it away. Then he says "First rule of Italian Driving - Once they are behind me, theyareofnoconcernofmine." Said just like that. I guess I did love part of Ryan's time here no doubt about it. But right now I am having trouble remembering, with the future before us. It's all good.
