We cannot celebrate one hire without some fool bashing the damn selection. It was a given. Have mercy this will never end
Silly argument. Really ridiculous. Was John Harbaugh a HC before he got hired? How about Mike Tomlin? Mike McCarthy? Sean Payton? Starting to get the point?
Mike Jurecki Todd Bowles is expected to take Cardinals LB coach Mike Caldwell with him to NY, he'll be the #Jets defensive coordinator. Don't know much about him other than being close with Bowles. EDIT: Was Bowles LB coach in 2012 with Philly as well so they are pretty tight.
Todd Bowles will last two years max. No track record as a HC. DC for a whopping three years, with mediocre results. I wasn't a fan of hiring Quinn either, but Dan Quinn is ten times the coach this fraud is.
People complaining about hiring a defensive guy, let me set your minds at ease. You see I think you all assume that everyone coaches like Rex Ryan coaches...badly. Where Rex would ignore an entire side of the ball, not every head coach works like that. Dare I say, most don't. So don't worry, I'm sure Todd will be just fine.
Nice article on player's perspective of Bowles from ESPN: http://espn.go.com/blog/nflnation/p...ive-on-falcons-coaching-candidate-todd-bowles
Yes the point is coordinators who get lucky to walk into a pro bowl QB can be successful. Coordinators who don't, usually fail miserably. For every McCarthy there are 20 failed coordinators.
People keep saying this (offense), but to me it's more about having someone who can control his team, motivate his team, and do both of those things consistently. His defensive acumen and willingness to focus on offense are obviously both vital, but man, primarily I just want someone who can drive the f*cking bus without getting lost, pulled over, in an accident, dozing at the wheel, etc, etc, etc.
I really had my heart set on Quinn for the last week ...its dissapointing in a way.I just hope Bowles has what it takes
Check his other years. Guy is a mediocre DC. Never cracked the top 5 and spent more time outside the top 20 than inside the top 10. No HC experience. But "his players respect him". Guy is an absolute joke of a hire. You got better coaches taking college jobs and we get saddled with another mediocre DC with zero experience.
Daryl Washington lost on the year Tyrann Mathieu missed great chunk of games Darnell Dockett lost for the year A lot of plug in guys for the Cards D this year, he did a really good job given the circumstances. The results in Philly didn't turn out the way they did because he was thrown into a position where the team gave up on Reid and lacked talent from what I have read. Didn't really get much of a fair shake as Philly's DC.
