Bruce Arians can take a dump on the ground and Francesa will study it and speak highly of it. Arians like Reid are annual guests on his show. He LOVES both of them, he probably hopes he gets more Jets talk with a Bowles. Too bad that's Woody's call. Mike can get some Rex Ryan and Mr. T at least.
We got rid of a defensive guy for a defensive guy. I mean I'm ok with the hire, but just not very thrilled. How is this going to help the offense?
I'd like to see you coach a injury depleted defense into the playoffs that had a 2nd and 3rd string QB for almost 2 months worth of time going 3 and out often. Bowles didn't have much of his defense altogether last season.
Todd Bowles total defensive rankings: 16, 6, 27...... Todd Bowles scoring defensiv rankings: 29, 7, 5..... Guy absolute sucks.
If Bowles has a better pulse on the offense and maybe learned some craft from Arians, that's already an upgrade. Its about picking players in the draft and finding guys in FA and being a better game manager and holding the team accountable for, something Rex has had troubles for the most part.
there's a difference between a defensive guy who has a 1970s view of offense and otherwise pays no attention to it (Rex) and a defensive guy who actually cares about developing the offense and treats it as part of his responsibility as HC. hopefully this is Bowles.
Rex was "one of the best defensive minds in the world"?? Out defense was TERRIBLE. The entire team was poorly coached and had no preparation. Sending 6 guys on a blitz every 3rd down is not the sign of a great defensive mind. It's just the sign of a mediocre Madden player. This is a common theme among Jet fans. Things have become so bad we are blown away by mediocrity. Rex was atrocious as a head coach. His success as a DC came with one of the best defenses of all time that was trained up by Marvin Lewis. Not that hard to look good when you have 3-4 HOF players in their prime. Bowles did a lot more with a lot less. And he acts like a grown man unlike Rex and his juvenile bravado.
Was my pick since the beggining ,glad we finally made a move I can get behind.I did start to like Quinn over the last week but Bowles is a good fit
This, like Quinn, all depends on who the OC is. As long as the GM gets a secondary, the defense was going to be fine regardless. The question is what happens to the offense.
Jets reportedly hire Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles as head coach. Cards d ranked 5th in NFL in Opp PPG over last 2 seasons
I would've been ok with either Quinn or Bowles.....I just knew that once Denver opened and Atlanta wanting Bowles that the Jets might not feel like waiting was the best option... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
