I'm happy with either ...but what ever one we don't get will go on to win a Superbowl at somepoint....because we just can't catch a break as Jets fans
The only thing I don't like about Bowles is that he's got a great nickname if he sucks .... "Toilet Bowles" But I can't think of any good ones if he succeeds ..... "Bowling Ball"? "Holiday Punch Bowles"? "Todd Bowles-us-over"? They're all lame. ... a bad sign perhaps?
What about Bowel Movements,Or Bowles of Shit,Gutter Bowles,Dick n Bowles, yea I don't like this its not gonna be good if it goes to hell."No Super Bowles"
Bowles has everything to be a great head coach. He commands respect from his players, is one hell of a defensive coordinator, and has the demeanor to be a strong coach. The one thing that makes him stand out over Quinn is his ability to produce great defenses no matter the circumstance. Many can argue that Quinn walked into great talent, and while I believe that has little to do with his success, it is something to consider. Bowles was dealt an absolutely horrible hand with injuries this year, yet still, he put out a great defense. I'm excited to get either. I think Woody hiring Casserly and Wolf was a great move. Right now, we are in contention to get one of two VERY good candidates in my eyes.
"Super Bowles" as one poster came up with, the best nickname ever!!!! A delicious double-meaning too; as in he's a "Super" coach, and he's delivered multiple "Super Bowles" to the Jets!
Yea it's a dumb rule. Just last night the OC of Ohio State coached a great game and is now the HC of Houston. I'd be happy with Quinn or Bowles.
The more I think about it, the more I want Bowles over Quinn for this reason. Quinn took what Bradley built and kept it at a high level (and Bradley has not been anything special in Jax, obviously). Bowles built a great defense and then sustained a great defense with a million injuries this year. I would still prefer an offensive guy, but as long as Bowles or Quinn gets a good OC, I am happy with either, and have begun to lean in Bowles' direction.
I also like how MMQB ranked Bowles the Assistant Coach of the year this year: http://mmqb.si.com/2014/12/30/nfl-awards-mvp-rookie-coach/4/
If the interview goes well with Bowles tonight, offer him the job. Quinn is not guaranteed. Bowles will be visiting ATL after where he is considered the top candidate.
I think we end up giving Bowles the job, which I'm fine with...he wasn't my #1 choice but we could do much worse (i.e. Marrone).
Its a really tough call honestly because there really isn't much seperating the two.Do you not let Bowles leave the building?or do you wait for Quinn who isnt a sure thing who the Broncos now want to
