he is awful. all the talent in the world and can't get the job down no matter how much talent is around him.
AGAIN I am not a Geno fan but Geno is still unknown. Cutler is known, he would be a disaster here. more than the disasters he's been in Den and Chi.
That may not be due to Jay Cutler...The guy is immensely talented. There are many factors outside of just him that should be considered. A change of scenery and coming here where we could BADLY use him would be a good step. Last year there were so many factors leading to that team failing that had nothing to do with Cutler.
What is unknown about Geno? He's terrible. That's all there is to know. Cutler is known as you say yourself "has all the talent in the world." You saying he won't succeed here and he'd be a HUGE disaster carries little merit because it's not based on anything but a clear dislike for him. I'll happily point to Geno's TD to INT ratio if you'd like. Or total turnovers in 2 seasons. That is a known #. This fanbase continues to seek mediocrity, hoping it turns to gold and gets confused why we end up never winning anything. Sticking to Geno will just set us back. Cutler with a rookie behind him gives us a chance to compete today and prepare for tomorrow. By all means keep Geno on the bench but he should come nowhere near starting and be re-evaluated in a year if anything. Or we can sign Cristian Ponder lol
failed in Denver and Denver started winning when he left, failed in Chicago w/ elite talent on offense. in 2013 Josh McCown had winning record in Chi and Cutler did not. our fanbase does suck but not b/c we don't want Cutler but b/c the fanbase ran good people out of town and we continue to get worse. how many teams does Cutler have to ruin before fans get it? this is not fantasy football.
problem (as we all know) is you pretty much never get a good QB hit the market other than a once in a blue moon happening like Manning or Brees. Last year the top QB free agents were Vick and McCown, next year they are Ryan Mallet and Jake Locker oh and Sanchez. Might as well just write off next year, get some pieces in place and then look at the QB class for 2016 as I am pretty sure we will have a top 3 pick.
Cutler already got a change of scenery when he went from Denver to Chicago, and he even got to keep his favorite weapon in the process. It doesn't get much better than that. He's horrible. Don't let the physical tools fool you.
you mean the broncos who ushered in Kyle Orton? Sure. McCown? Give me a break. The guy was a career backup and teams had zero film on him. He played way above his head which happens sometimes. They also changed the offensive style a bit in terms of their use of Forte a top 5 NFL RB. This isn't fantasy football. This also isn't let's continue to sign fodder, talk up the likes of Brooks Bollinger, pray Bradford's ACL doesn't tear, or pretend Geno has a lick of hope, while perpertually telling ourselves we are re-building. Cutler is at the very least a strong stop gap while we do it right and groom a rookie. We have lots of cap room, we have a seemingly continuous massive hole at the most important position on the field, and we need time to groom someone. We could get a solid 4 - 5 years out of Jay if we were to acquire him and he'd be the best QB we've fielded since Favre.
They won w/ Tim Tebow McCown isn't good and was MUCH better than Cutler w/ all that talent in Chi. Cutler is not a stopgap, he is a guy that we should sign if we want to see decent fantasy #s and the losses pile up.
A stopgap that eats up a third of our salary cap and hasn't accomplished dick at 32 years old despite being given everything he could possibly need? No thanks.
You simply do not know the facts about Cutler and his season in Chicago. You're so closeminded about it I am not going to bother going over the discussion we had here before Christmas, but if you wanted to better inform yourself, you would do the research rather than continuing to spout useless generalities. He is not liked there because of his contract. This has made him a scapegoat. Meanwhile ownership has shitcanned both the GM and the CS, so OBVIOUSLY it is not ownership's assessment that ALL of the problems begin and end with Cutler. Look at injuries, look at their D, look at their running game, and tell me it's all or even mostly on Cutler. Because if you do, you don't know the game.
You have me blocked because you're a pussy, but whose fault is it that Cutler lead the league in turnovers?
It is never about one person in the NFL ever. Trying to suggest that's what I'm arguing is misdirecting what I'm actually saying to what you want to hear. So to clarify for you, I don't give a shit what percentage of blame falls on who for Chicago's mess. I don't care. Really, not even slightly. Here's what I do care about: under no circumstances whatsoever should the Jets attempt to acquire this player and integrate him into this team. He sucks, he brings down teams he plays for, I don't want him here, period. I predict yet another typical Jets disaster should this guy somehow end up on this team. Clear enough?
