What do you want? Brian Hoyer? No thanks. Give me a new OC with a different offense and give Geno another chance to compete for the job.
how many division titles or championships outside of namath? how much sustained success? average tenure on the team? add that to the entirely different circumstances we face today and your point is what? if we want to use Vinny he sucked until he was in his 30's. So why not Cutler again?
name anything Geno has done to warrant him starting 1 more game or being in the starting conversation....?!?
I'd take a chance w/ him finally being able to stay healthy over the known that Jay Cutler is just awful.
I am NOT a Geno fan but he is still young and developing, he never should have been starting year 1 and he has shown some glimpses of being a decent QB. Give me that all day over the known of a Jay Cutler type.
He has shown some flashes that would lead you to believe that in the right hands he could be decent starter in this league. Marty Moron just could not get through to him. The truth is that it is very hard to find a good QB in this league and this year's draft + FA class is about as underwhelming as it gets. I will add that supposed "tutor" Michael Vick did more harm than good to Geno. I never understood why bringing a veteran with character issues into the equation made any sense.
I just posted the info. div titles- Chad has 1 and Vinny has 1 championships? none, then again no other Jet team had the chance to make a SB by having to win just 1 home game. sustained success? we have been pretty good since '97 until this year.
Because Cutler does not deal with adversity well (there is a lot of it in NYC) and he's going to be expensive. A smart person would say: "If you are going to spend money, spend it on something that is sure thing". Cutler sucks and quits when faced with adversity, he is the last thing we need. He's like Vick: Good athletic attributes, but poor intangibles.
Last time a QB won with his team the Super Bowl and he was NOT drafted by them was 2002 the Tampa Buccaneers with Brad Johnson
It was Brees in 2009 SBs won by QBs not drafted by team: SB IV Len Dawson SB V Johnny Unitas XB XV Jim Plunkett SB XVII Joe Theismann SB XVIII Jim Plunkett SB XXII Doug Williams SB XXIX Steve Young SB XXXI Brett Favre SB XXXIV Kurt Warner SB XXXV Trent Dilfer SB XXXVII Brad Johnson SB XLIV Drew Brees
dude Geno Smith is absolute trash it couldn't be clearer. His coach makes no difference, he's not an NFL level QB.
Same people who are saying Geno has flashed and Jay Cutler is awful... boggles my mind... Jets fans complain about our QB all year, kill Geno all year, complain we haven't had a QB worth a lick....then bring up Cristian Ponder or another rookie or somehow GENO AGAIN. Over Jay Cutler... I am resigning from this thread lol
