Sounds like he would have been 6-7 rounder before tonight. The heads are now talking first to second. He's not starting at OSU next year so he might as well fly. I'd take the chance. And get his buddy next year.
Depends on where we draft him. I don't even want him in the 2nd round. I'd take Petty/Grayson/Hundley before I take Cardale.
Can you explain why you feel that way? The kid has a very strong arm, makes good decisions, is athletic, strong and hard to take down, has ice in his veins to be able to come in on the fly for 3 of the biggest games any college QB could ever play, he played remarkably well with all of that pressure on his shoulder, extremely poised. I don't understand, given the amount of experience he has had and the way he has played on the biggest stages in college football, what would make you think all of those other QB's are better? Also.. This isn't biased BS I'm spewing. I think J.T. Barrett is the best QB on that roster right now but I think Cardale Jones will be a fantastic QB down the road. I think he is good now, but I think his ceiling is extremely high. I think both of them are better than Braxton Miller.
You forgot quick for a big guy. What about that QB sneak that got plugged up and he rolled out and made the corner for a first down?
I have to think about this but he looked amazing tonight. The only bad play I can remember was the sack/fumble.
Was much more impressed with that running back of theirs and the OL. He made a few good plays and has a ton of talent, what he has like 4 starts under his belt? Need to see way more to even consider picking him in the first 4 rounds.
Need to see more and based on what I seen he'd be exposed real quick. His mechanics are a bit flawed.
Cardale is built just like Cam Newton and has one of the best arms I've ever seen. His arm is closest to resembling Colin Kaepernick's that I've seen. He's quicker than Newton. My only question would be of his IQ and character given his famous Tweet from a few seasons ago, but it seems like he may have turned it around. I'd be on board for him, assuredly in the second round. He's better than Brett Hundley. Petty vs. Jones would be an interesting conundrum. Jones is a risk, no doubt, because he's only started three games, but I do think he will declare for the draft, given the QB situation at OSU.
We've had plenty of experience drafting quarterbacks with a very short resume as far as starting college games. I'd approach this very conservatively... look at the talent, don't overpay for it.
I'm very impressed how he handled the situation...... he's a "gamer", but to draft a junior who has started 3 games that high is just silly
no...not in rounds 1 - 7...the guy wont be an NFL talent. The guy started all of 3 games. I mean good for him he's a cool story, but not draftable. UDFA? Sure why not.
The biggest questions that need to be answered are his intangibles, work ethic etc, which I haven't gotten the slightest clue about. Why was he a 3rd string QB with that much talent? Based on talent alone I'd draft him in the second in a heartbeat. Kid looks like a faster Big Ben.
He had a lot of time back there. I'd be interested in looking at that RB and some of those OL though.
