We need to get our guy immediately before the good candidates sign elsewhere and/or Quinn burns us. I'd sign Todd Bowles and move on with the offseason. His Parcells ties are my seal of approval. He's the kind of coach to get alot out of his players despite talent. We might be holding out for Quinn but he has alot of other options besides us. McDermott and Reich are my possible fall back options if we continue to wait around and get burned by Quinn but I'd be pumped if Woody went out and signed Bowles.
Yea I have a feeling Woodys minons put out feelers,Woody had the biggest boner when the Bills fired Marone,He nearly came with the news of Fox ...the green tie wearing idiot
Agreed on all of the above, but take a breath and enjoy this game, sir. Positive things happening elsewhere right now!
Brian Costello Jets did not request an interview with John Fox, according to a source #nyj Kimberley A. Martin Told same as others -- #Jets didn't request an interview w/ John Fox, per source.
To reiterate a lot of what you guys have said, it is becoming abundantly clear that Woody made his mind up long ago and is banking heavily on Quinn to be our coach. He will continue doing due diligence for a back up or two but all being equal he is really not considering anyone else as the first choice. In the absence of a strong commitment from Quinn, something we don't know about, we are at risk. We might loose out on the Quinn sweepstakes and left holding the bag on Feb 1st if the two back ups go else where. Let's hope Gase gets promoted because I do not trust Denver at all, it would be classic Elways to pull a fast one and overpay for Quinn.
Ok. May be is paranoia on my part but: A- no coach selection yet B- we did not schedule a second interview with anyone till after the Seattle win C- only second interview scheduled is with Bowles, from all reports a solid candidate but a second choice D- other teams seem to target Quinn as the guy, and no selection made by any of them as well E- kind of smells like we are competing for one guy, and one guy only
I must have missed that as well. It was only a week ago that it had become supposedly clear that we were going to hire Doug Marrone as the HC during his interview. That didn't exactly pan out either. But, even if Quinn were the guy that Woody had decided to hire, that was before the landscape changed with Fox hitting the market. At the very least, Woody should bring Fox in for an interview. We've done the whole first-time HC thing over and over again with nothing to show for it. It might be time to buck that trend and hire a coach who actually has experience and has taken two different franchises to the Super Bowl. Regardless, though, they should at least interview him.
It doesn't matter who you root for to be coach In the end, just remember we had Carroll. I'm not saying I like him, I'm saying its a fucking crap shoot of men, talent, timing, and QB, so calm down. You never know who will develop into a great HC. We all know Beledouche was a major fail with Cleveland, and almost fail in NE if not for Tom Brady
I'd take John Fox as HC over most of these scrubs but I think this job would actually be detrimental to his health and for his sake I hope he doesn't get it.

Quinn is the #1 target on the market right now. He's the DC of the team that won the Super Bowl last year and is in the NFC Championship Game this year. He's going to get his pick of the vacancies.
