Well FWIW i will be taking courses to become a CPA and my first order of business will be to rescue this team from cap hell in 2022... by then we will have already burned thru another 2 sets of head coach/GM's and geno will still be the starter. LOL
They don't just hire any ol' CPA, they care about experience working for the NFL. If you're a great auditor, that doesn't really have anything to do with what a front office does. You also have to be willing to work for basically no money for the first few years until you prove yourself, and then after that you get a somewhat middle class wage but no job security (since you get fired whenever the GM gets fired, or if any of his major underlings get fired and want to bring in their own people.)
If you saw this image 6 months ago would you have thought this would be the guy to save the franchise?I would love for him to wear a hat like this during his press confrence it would be legendary
Has this guy been working for the Jets before they officially hired him?! "Bowles is scheduled to arrive in New Jersey late Tuesday for his second interview and -- this is the important part -- he's slated to meet with general manager-in-waiting Mike Maccagnan, according to a source." http://espn.go.com/blog/new-york-jets/ Apparently Maccagnan was ready to hop on a plane with Jets officials to try and sign Quinn if the Seahawks lost their last game, and he wasn't on board then and still isn't now! If he's already involved with the team why don't they just hire him already, rather than keeping up all in suspense like this!?!?!?! Very strange to say the least!
Details. They are likely working out all the details before signing him. They can't make it official because not everything has been put in place yet. Time is very limited right now. They need to make moves for a head coach. If they have mutually agreed with Maccagnan, then you bring him on board to hire the head coach until his contract has been finalized and the deal is official. This isn't strange at all.
Isn't it amazing how Maccagnan is doing all this work behind the scenes but hasn't been hired, I call BS
i think the plan is to have 1 presser where he introduces the hc and gm and explains the chain of command
He may have been hired already but it hasn't been announced. It's pretty obvious we have our GM in place.
As expected: Per Jets tweet: "It’s official. Woody has named Mike Maccagnan our new General Manager. "
It's been officially announced. All the beat writers are report that its official. Bowles is also eating dinner with Woody and the team brass.
