He may have thought that Rex was the favorite to land in Atlanta, now that Rex went to Buffalo he might want the Atlanta job instead,They have one thing we don't ...a franchise QB regardless if there defense finished 32 in the league they still have what we dont

I would say there are 2 options after reading the news about McDermott and Bowles:

    1. Woody decided that we won't wait to Quinn and trying to bring in another defensive minded HC's and if some of them will have a very, very good interview, then hire him.

    2. As we need to wait for Quin at least one (or 3) weeks, we are bringing in other options to show as if we would consider other coaches.

Putting aside my own fandom, looking at it objectively if you will, I could see someone like Quinn thinking Atlanta is the better place to go since he can focus primarily on their D and not have to worry about the Qb trainwreck that the Jets have.

It's also bad strategy to give any candidate too much leverage by acting like he is the only one you want. Even if he is.

I don't know enough about either to have a strong opinion, but my thought is that I'm OK with a 3-4 defense. I think it fits our talent: 1) we have an abundance of DL talent that gets thinned a bit if we go to a 4-3. 2) we really don't have the LB talent for a 4-3. Our LBs are slow (and old) and used to playing the 3-4; and that includes Coples, who, though he hasn't put up ridiculous numbers, is still a quality DE/OLB. 3) We still need CBs. That doesn't change just because you've changed the front seven.

Bottom line: I like the flexibility of a 3-4: you can play conservatively or aggressively with it and I think we have more players suited for it than the other defense. Both coaches seem able to run either defense, so I'm not sure that it matters which of the favored two we end up hiring.

Just from watching random interviews on youtube, I really like Quinn over Bowles just as far as demeanor goes. Bowles seemed a little dry and more of a coordinator personality, where Quinn really struck me as a leader. I'm pretty sold on Quinn right now and would consider it a disappointment to end up with anybody else, although my opinion is pretty uneducated and based of common facts that anybody could google search. From a pure gut feeling, Quinn seems like he could be a great coach.

They're technically not allowed to even offer Quinn the job, so might as well do due diligence while simultaneously giving themselves an out in the event of a tampering or rules-breaking allegation.

Proooobably should give John Fox a call...

More importantly, I feel like now Peyton is out... which means Demaryius may want to hook up with his best buddy Eric Decker somewhere other than Denver.

I wonder if Rex thinks he may have jumped the gun a bit accepting the Buffalo job. Ha!

True although who is their QB? Kidding (mostly). I imagine their OC will be the guy for that job though.

I don't think so, Peyton is on the way out. The Thomas non brothers are both FAs, they are getting old.

Denver scares me for Quinn. Hopefully they promote Gase from within but regardless I would definitely bring in Fox for an interview while we wait.
