Who cares until we have some players on offense. And hopefully half the defense doesn't follow Ryan to Buffalo as soon as their contracts permit.
The worst I can see leaving is Harris, we don't have anyone that is really important up for free agency this year.
No hopefully he does take half the defense. Please Rex take Pace, Wilson, Landry, and do pay Harris a huge Bart Scott type deal. He's not getting any of a core guys.
Wow, this is shocking news. And by "shocking" I mean "completely predictable". In fact, here's me predicting it over a week ago (LINK) ... This whole process was manufactured by Casserly to get his buddies hired. Don't be surprised when Marrone is announced as head coach, too.
It was confirmed that Ron Wolf led the interview so it was unbiased in the decision. Ron Wolf came away so impressed, because there is a guy named Ted Thompson who basically Mac tries to follow a similar path. If Ron Wolf was happy, you should too...Marrone is not going to be a Head Coach of the Jets...
I don't care if Vince Lombardi led the interview; the fix was in. I have no idea if he will be a good or bad GM, but I do know that he's not being hired because he's the most qualified. He's being hired because of his relationship with Casserly (a man with a poor career as a GM). If and when I'm wrong, I'll say I'm wrong. It's going to be Marrone. He didn't quit his job without knowing he already had a handshake deal for another one.
What the hell are you going on about a fix? He could have quit even if he had no job because he was still getting paid Marrone came into a new ownership midway in season, his contract guaranteed him FULL SALARY 2015 EVEN IF HE OPTED OUT http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/12/31/marrone-gets-paid-to-walk-away/ According to ESPN, that’s precisely the term he negotiated when he became the coach two years ago. Marrone gets $4 million for 2015, with no offset if he takes another job in football for next season. It’s also unclear whether and to what extent Marrone tried to parlay his Parcells-style cash-and-carry contract into an extension, a raise, more power, and/or the termination of certain members of the front office. It’s possible Marrone went all in, the Pegulas called his bluff, and now he’s gone.
Yes I do. Please name all the other teams that Maccagan interviewed with ... I will be here listening to the crickets chirp with bated breath.
What part of my assertion didn't you understand? The process was fixed (by Casserly) to get his friends hired. It doesn't matter who "led the interview" - Casserly's friend was going to be the recommended hire at the conclusion of it (just as Marrone was).
You're a loser dude all you've done is bitch about everything...take your Rex tattoo avatar and go and join the Buffalo forum already
That's very cute ... your posting history over the past 24 hours is a lengthy series of ad hominem attacks and complaints about other posters who are Jets fans. Your thrashing around (throwing punches, and missing, at everything that moves) like an infant having a hissy is 50% hilarious and 50% yawn inducing.
None, but that isn't unusual. Brian Gaine (Bears and Eagles) and Chris Grier (Jets and Eagles) are the only two people to get interviews for more than one GM position this off-season (I'm excluding Rod Graves, who interviewed with the Jets and Redskins; the 'Skins obviously had a previous agreement with McCloughan and just interviewed Graves to satisfy the Rooney Rule). There are twelve GM candidates who interviewed with only one team.
So they why are Quinn and Bowles the frtont-runners too? Are they also Casserly's friends? They interviewed seven GM candidates, SEVEN. You couldn't ask for a more fair interview process. Take the stick out of your ass.
