He played well under the Shanahans, he wanted to do his own thing and THAT'S what sidetracked his career
living in the D.C. area i can tell you the last qb Shanahan would try and advoacte for would be RG3..The RG3 personality/relationship with Dan Synder was the thing that caused the huge rift between Mike Shanahan and Synder...it was pretty ugly here...no way, if the quinn/shanahan dominoes fall, is RG3 the qb they'd push to trade for...
I agree. I think he can excel still, just outside of WAS. It has to be straightened out that the QB can't be receiving preferrential treatment from the owner that overrides GM, HC, OC, and the rest of the team. So fresh start could be good for him if he's willing to adjust
Who is ready for some Stone Cold Dan Quinn to come in and whoop some candy ass??!? I'm ready for an intro like this...WWF style... Dead ringer...
There are multiple threads with the almost near certainty that Quinn will be the next coach of the JETS once Seattle's season is over. My question is twofold; Is Quinn definitely sold on the Jets? I mean there are other teams that want him, and where has it been written that he wants to come here, no if's and's or but's. The second thing I'm curious about, with all this press coverage/leakage is; What's our contingency plan if we don't get Quinn? Is Reich the next guy we want? Is it Bowles? What's the thinking of who our new GM wants to work with...
If we dont get Quinn, it would be a great coup if we got Bowles for HC and Dick LeBeau as Asst. Head Coach/D-Coordinator
Sources have told media outlets that the Jets are his first choice AND that he has already been reaching out to other coaches to make his staff on the Jets.
Thanx, just kinda figured with our luck, some of the other teams interested in him may be taking advantage of the time, and making a push to get him....
To be fair, it probably is his agent and these other coaches. Although whose to say Quinn isn't going home and calling Kyle Shannahan
Oh I am sure it will probably happen. Some team like Atlanta can come in and try to take Quinn because he is on fire with that defense. And if he wins another Super Bowl. It could get tough, but we have to hope he wants to come back home to NY/NJ, and be the head coach of a team that he once was a part of.
Can't believe the dude is staying in the AFCE. What's with trading places with players and coaches in this division? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well, there's this report: "Another source familiar with Quinn's thinking said the Seahawks' defensive coordinator has privately expressed his desire to coach the Jets." http://www.newsday.com/sports/footb...es-are-jets-top-coaching-candidates-1.9790814
"Quinn likely will receive multiple offers, a source told ESPN.com's Rich Cimini, so it's premature to say he's a lock for the Jets. However, he has strong ties to New Jersey. He grew up in Morristown, a few miles from the Jets' facility, and has family in the area. He was a Jets assistant in 2007 and 2008." http://espn.go.com/new-york/nfl/story/_/id/12150610/new-york-jets-targeting-dan-quinn-new-coach
This is what really worries me more than anything. Atlanta and Chicago are lurking out there....and may be even Denver. Wish Seattle gets their asses kick Sunday and find out where we stand.
Let's hope the Broncos don't go after Quinn. They have their downside but are more attractive than the Jets...
