How dare this writer write something complimentary about a Jets potential hire. He will be ridiculed by the magestical Metha in his own home turf and paper. LOL
I hope Quinn brings Byron Maxwell and Malcolm Smith with him. That would be tough! two seattle free agents that will be big needs for the jets at CB and OLB!
You may be right but I think I read somewhere that the Jets traveled to Seattle to interview someone. Can't remember much about it other than that. Didn't Charlie Wies take the Notre Dam job while still with the Pats with like 2 weeks to go in the playoffs? I can't remember much about this either.
So 4-12 in 2013 and 3-13 and "Their future looks a lot brighter than ours at the moment" but yet Idzik gets ran out of town after going 8-8 (with less talent than the '13 Jags) and 4-12? How is their future any brighter? But anyway I guess when you're in Jacksonville you don't have to worry about a toxic media and impatient fans.
Idzik sucks when it comes to making the final choice - look at who the Jags got in the draft and compare it to ours. They have done a far better job.
Yes they can. This happens every year where employed coaches in the playoffs interview for other jobs. There is nothing illegal about it.
No you are wrong. They were only allowed to talk last week. Im not sure when they changed their policy but that is the official policy now. Thats why no one could talk to Bowles until AFTER he was eliminated..... But yes back in the day Rex talked to the Jets during the Ravens playoff run. Not allowed anymore.
I know some games are over, but here is how it plays out for any interview that is granted, the question is, could they have Quinn back for a second interview, or is one interview all they get until season is over for Seattle? Arizona and Baltimore play this weekend, while Seattle has a bye. That's why Johnson and his consultants are knocking out interviews with Kirchner, Cable and Quinn in Seattle this weekend. If Arizona and Baltimore win this weekend, the Jets can interview Bowles and Kubiak next weekend. Here's how that schedule looks in the form of the NFL's key dates: Sunday Jan. 4: Assistant coaches under contract to playoff clubs that have byes in wildcard weekend may be interviewed for head coaching positions through the conclusion of the wildcard games. Sunday Jan. 11: Assistant coaches under contract to playoff clubs that won their wildcard playoff games may be interviewed for head coaching positions through the conclusion of the divisional playoff games.
Ok so Quinn can no longer be talked to....and for the teams that played last week, like Bowles, had the Cardinals won, he would have been allowed to talk this week. I dont believe they can technically have Quinn back for another interview but I mean come on, tampering occurs all the time. Im sure the Jets are in some sort of contact with him. The thing though is, they cannot offically announce him until Seattle is bounced. Like when the Ravens lost, I beleive Rex was announced that night.
I wasn't sold on him but he's looked promising albeit inconsistent. But until he does something I can't declare the Jags set at QB.
