I would still like to see the Jets at least try to do a deal with Chicago to get Cutler. They have a new GM in place. Find out if he'd be interested.

I'd rather stick with Geno than go down that road. Cutler is hot garbage. He won't improve going from Marshall, Jeffrey, Bennett, and Forte (not to mention that coaching staff) to here. He is a surefire way to set this team back further, particularly if we needed to part with any draft picks to acquire him.

If we end up with Quinn/Shanahan, then Hoyer makes a lot of sense. Cleveland may try to resign him though, don't see them riding Manziel.

I'm willing to give Sam the benefit of the doubt and blame Cutesy Jr's poor protection schemes and a bad OL ignored for years in favor of DL.

I agree I want no part of Cutler with that contract...if that contract were gone then I'd take him. I bolded the one part because...exactly how much further back do you think we have to go? LOL :D

Just a quick comparison of Geno and Hoyer's 2014 seasons
    Geno - 14 games - 59.7% - 13 TD 13 INT 3 Fumbles Passer rating 77.5 and 238 yards rushing
    Hoyer - 14 games - 55,3% - 12 TD 13 INT 2 Fumbles Passer rating 76.5 and 39 yards rushing

Geno sucks but he has more upside than Hoyer who has already been hanging around the league 6 years.

Cutler is exactly the kind of QB you go and get if you're trying to do a one year turnaround. He's Vinny Testaverde. He's Brad Johnson. He's the journeyman QB who is good enough that he's been given several opportunities to start for teams, with good seasons and not so good seasons and always confounding people with his flashes of great play and a strong arm followed by mistakes where he tries to throw the receiver open only he's not open.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see the Jets go get him. The thing that is going to scare off most suitors is the contract and that's the one thing that won't scare the Jets.

The Jets haven't had a QB who could make plays consistently in the red zone since Brett Favre left town. Cutler had 21 TD passes in the red zone last year. That's 4 less than Mark Sanchez and Geno Smith combined for in 2012, 2013 and 2014.

The point is to bring Hoyer in to compete with Geno. Hoyer wouldn't automatically be handed the job.

Hoyer is much more serviceable than Vick.

At least you know with Cutler - he will get the receivers the ball (coughAmariCoopercough. In an offense that wants to have more of a 50/50 run pass-ratio, Cutler could be a better player.

The ideal scenario would be the Jets getting Cutler and then drafting Mariota or Winston on the 6. The young guy can go on the Aaron Rodgers plan.

I feel like they want him back more than they want Manziel back even. I wouldn't plan on him.

Also, I just can't see Cutler being traded, or RG3. (or Bradford)

His name should be pronounced Ja-MAY-is, or spelled Jamis ..... does this annoy anyone else but me?

The two sport thing is real for Winston. He was FSU's closer last year and is a real major league prospect. The earning potential as a star relief pitcher is much higher than the earning potential as a franchise QB and you don't have 300 lb guys trying to kill you on every play.

That said, he's closer to making it as a QB and there's going to be more money guaranteed up front as a 1st round NFL pick. Still it's something to think about.

Cutler? Please no. He is not popular in Chicago with the fans and his teammates. Million dollar arm and ten-cent brain.
