Actually no. Again if we are going by Islamic rules, if someone is making fun of God or Prophet Muhammed, religion allows you to kill them. In killing those cartoonists they can find an explanation in Islam. But killing an unarmed police officer when he pleaded mercy does not have any ground in Islam.

Yes, I know. Note my use of the word "should." A few times. Surprisingly, I consider that wrong on its face.

Apparently, our two murderous Muslims are now dead. Wanting to die as martyrs. Regrettably, they were finished off before they could take care of Doonesbury.

Okay thanks for the clarification. It might not even really be an ISIS rule, again, something I just heard on the Internet, I was just curious.

    Very sad to hear that.

I wonder about the accomplice, there was supposedly a female accomplice at the deli.

I gotta say, the French's reputation as a bunch of effete surrender monkeys is taking a bit of a hit.

    This is interesting:

Former President Jimmy Carter’s National Security Adviser Zbingniew Brzezinski said the United States should reexamine free speech after terrorists murdered 12 people in France for publishing cartoons.

“We have to take a look more closely at the nature of the so-called satire,” Brzezinski said. “I’ve not seen what I’m about to say, but I’ve been told by some people that some of the cartoons are absolutely appalling and directed at the prophet himself. Is that really humor? . . .
Words are weapons, and pictures can also be weapons, and cartoons can be weapons, and it depends on how they are used–how they are defined, how they are received by people who are very sensitive, very aroused, and not sometimes in our interest to promote that. So it’s a matter of common sense.”
Such great contrast. Some would see a satirical cartoon of Mohammed sucking face with another man and would react by mowing down an office full of cartoonists. Here we have a fool; an idiot, for sure; a man who spouts such abject stupidity that we should rightfully want to silence him forever. But do we? Of course not. We put him on MSNBC with his daughter for all the world to see. It really is remarkable. Makes me so proud. U-S-A!!! U-S-A!! U-S-A!!!!

You spelled Zbigniew wrong. I mean, while you're on the subject of fools and idiots and such.

Well, no, I didn't. But fair enough - cutting and pasting counts.
