Quinn and Kyle. I would take it. Definitely an upgrade from last year. And bring along Hoyer (who Shanahan didn't want to bench in Cleve.) with you. As to why would Quinn take the Jets over other teams. This is New York, baby. That's why. And the Jets.
Oh wow, thanks for the insight on that! I like the sound of this defense already - hopefully we acquire Quinn as our HC. We need to find a player that fits this "LEO" category. Pace is too old to play a significant number of snaps. We can find this guy via the draft I think. Utah defensive end, Nate Orchard is a guy that can be acquired in the 2nd round. Plays 4-3 / 3-4 hands on the ground, standing up.
I'm going to miss the blitz on every 3rd down and giving up 15 yrds every time. If Quinns defence isn't predictable how the hell are we all going to know what's coming next. It's opposition OCs I feel most sorry for I mean they may have to draw up multiple plays if they don't know what's coming
Gus Bradley has shit talent on D down in JAX and they got better as the season went along. They are a much tougher defense than their ranking would suggest. Even with a bunch of no names they can really get after the passer. I expect that ranking to improve greatly after a more defensive focused second off season. The one thing Gus Bradley proved this season is that he can coach defense making him a bad example IMO.
I wouldn't poke fun at Caldwell and Bradley; they have done a great job in JAX so far. Their future looks a lot brighter than ours at the moment.
I will officially be rooting on the Carolina Panthers this weekend........sooner he's available the better
He's had a couple of opportunities to prove himself. When he was with Shanahan he did well. When he was with Gruden he did not. I'm not saying it automatically means he's going to be great w/ the Jets w/ Shanahan, but I can say that I would give him the opportunity and not assume he can't be successful because other back-ups in history did not do well.
IMO Hoyer knows how to play the position. He did have a slump, I didn't see the games so I don't know how much of it was on him or the team. I think he is what the Jets need. A decent game manager. The other components on the O are ok, maybe above average with a few new additions. So to me I spend my money on Cooper (if available-no trade up) and the O-line vs drafting a Qb.
People keep saying this, but why would I want to hire a guy who's defense can't even beat a 7-8-1 Panthers team with no WR's at home? Haha.
