Is it weird that so many announcers praise Sheldon Richardson? I understand a lot of you guys are under the impression Idzik raped your sisters, but come on. It's not like he was a complete fucking idiot. And like I said before, it's not like hiring Dan Quinn is an idea that only Idzik had. The guy is the best DC in the league and he's interviewed for 5 other positions. Are those 5 other teams stupid too just because they interviewed a guy Idzik wanted?

Don't really know how it's debatable considering he has the top ranked defense.

Yea - and Tom Clements is the best offensive coordinator in the league. Adam Gase is a close 2nd.

I'm sorry I forgot how quickly this fanbase's panties can get in a bunch... he's the defensive coordinator heading up the best defense in the league right now. Work better for you honey?

You don't think Rex was a heavy infulence on that pick?Because I think he was its obvious .Rexs fingerprints are all over Millner and Pryor as well

I absolutely believe the Jets need a speed-rusher, if the Jets think Randy Gregory fits the bill he could be our speed rusher. I didn't know Quinn ran a hybrid 3-4 though. I did some research, Quinn DOES know the 3-4, but they still start things off with the 4-3 base defense. Coples would be the 4-3RE, but we still need a 4-3LE.

See if Quinn can bring Bobby Wagner with him and get this thing done. That guy flying around, making plays all over in the middle of our defense. Would never happen but would be sick.

Of course, the real question is not is he is the best DC in the league right now. The real question should be is he the best hire that the New York Jets can make as their new HC? Given that Seattle's D has improved from what was already pretty damn good since he took over and he seems to have a reputation for being thorough and less impulsive than Rex then I'd say it looks to me like he is. I'd prefer Trestman to Shanahan as OC but can live with whoever.

I do not understand the obsession some people on this board have with the difference between a 3-4 and a 4-3 defensive front. Almost every defense in the league runs a healthy dose of both, and it's been this way for at least 5 years now. Hence, most teams carry the personnel necessary to run both. Rex, in particular, changed it up from play to play. We don't need some massive shift in personnel like we needed when Herm took over from Groh/Belicheck/Parcells. The personnel change we need is the same one we've needed for a decade-- can we PLEASE get someone to play outside linebacker???? In any front?

I questioned your statement regarding Quinn being the best DC in the league and you backed it up with a shallow answer that basically took no thought. When I questioned your answer you assumed I was upset?

    You're a tool.

I never heard anyone refer to Quinn as the best DC in the league until it was rumored he was the Jets next head coach. Funny how that works.

Quinton Coples called him a defensive genius in a recent interview,as far as being the best that's false. He's only been and DC for 2 1/2 years and has some of the best talent in the league. If you go back and look at there stats under Gus Bradley they didn't really start becoming a top defense until 2012 where they finished 4th .Under Quinn they have had the num 1 defense in the league for the last two seasons ,he is a great DC but I wouldn't call him the best the body of work isn't big enough to call him that just yet

yea its awsome...his d is a 3-4 disquised..sometimes the "LEO" puts his hand on the ground and gives it a 4-3 look and sometimes he will stand up and it will look like a 3-4...cris clemons was in that role and cliff avril replaced him in that role...there also isnt a need for a huge NT.

the stongside linbacker is almost a 3-4 OLB (bruce irvin played the role)...the spot moves to de in nickel and passing downs.

our current roster has fit in place for it now..minus the "leo" and pace would play in on roster now

coples could play the michael bennet role

and the 4-3 LE in this scheme is a "5 tech"... that used to be red bryant...so mo or richardson could do it....or even coples

    lots of things could would...awsome

Coples is our 4-3 end and Mo is our 3-4 end. Seems we have the perfect personell for Quinn's hybrid defense.

Why does Dan Quinn want to come to the Jets over the 49ers, Bears and Falcons? That is my question. I get taking the Jets over the Bills, but how can we assume he wants to be the Jets coach over the other teams?

It seems like the "Anti Boner" Doug Marrone is the favorite for the Bears job due to his ties with there new gm Ryan Pace
