I could get behind this set of guys...as well as "Mac" from the Texans as GM....I'd be willing to support that.
Shanahan took a long look at Johnny Manziel and bolted. Not good... For the Browns prospects that is.
One question though. Why would he work with Dan Quinn if his dad may very well be a HC again next year?
Ev’rybody’s building the big ships and the boats Some are building monuments Others, jotting down notes Ev’rybody’s in despair Ev’ry girl and boy But when Quinn the Eskimo gets here Ev’rybody’s gonna jump for joy Come all without, come all within You’ll not see nothing like the mighty Quinn Read more: http://www.bobdylan.com/us/songs/quinn-eskimo-mighty-quinn#ixzz3OFkf0QbS
Don't think Shanahan is all that great and I am a bit concerned about what Quinn did as far as the defense goes in Seattle. Indifferent altogether. Will matter who the GM is and that's what I am looking more at.
Fuck Cousins and RG3... Give Geno one more year with a capable coach in Shanny and lets build the rest of the team up... If Geno ain't the guy, we get our guy in next years draft.
In 2013 Quinn came in and took over a defense that was stacked with talent and had been rising up (9th overall in 2011, 4th overall in 2012). To his credit the defense continued to get better under his watch but how much of that defense being great is because of him? It's not clear to me that he had some huge impact on the quality of the Seahawks defense.
Well...if I'm the younger Shanahan I distance myself from "dad" for 2 reasons. The most obvious reason is to strike it on his own and not have his dad's coattails to contend with Obvious to football people is his dad really shit the bed in Washington and pretty much ruined RGIII. Other than the Elway years in Denver "daddy" really hasn't done shit...sooo....
I do not think they were playing that Triangle scheme in the secondary before he got there, but I could be wrong..
No one available is a long term solution for this team, so I'm willing to take that gamble for short term gain.
