LMFAO! Yeah, I'm sure front office executives are speaking to Manish Mehta about this hahahaha! What a fuckin fool
Not going to be pleased if we end up with Marrone. If this is a "Marrone said he would work with this guy so we're hiring them together" type of crap then I don't like that at all.
do you honestly think that would be the sole reason for hiring a gm? sounds like you're scared of shadows
I don't care what the reason for hiring Marrone is, I just don't like it. I don't think they would be hiring a GM solely because they are so in love with a coach they want to hire someone to do his bidding but if he has an unnatural amount of influence over who is hired then that sounds like bad news to me. If it's Maccagnan and any of Quinn, Kubiak or Bowles then I'm not as worried. The only thing I'm scared of is Marrone as our head coach as I really think that's a step in the wrong direction.
I can live with this. The Texans havent had a QB, but they have and have had good players. Watt and Foster are stars, Hopkins will be...Mario Williams in retrospect was a good pick even though they got a ton of crap for it. Give me this guy, Kubiak and Trestman and I'd be very happy
I'll be glad when this shit is over with. There's not a coach alive that can change this team in a single year or even two so if its Marrone, fine. If Marrone fucks up, he's gone in 2 anyway. No matter who Woody hires, there's no SB in our immediate future so here's where I get off the "Next Jets HC/GM" crazy train. It will be whatever it will be.. I'll see you guys after "The Coronations"..
Will we ever be happy? Do we Have any faith on the results? A few things worth noting as we continue with our search for a GM and HC jet fans. If you believe anything you read, no matter what, we should not be happy irrespective of the selection, and the media will spin it in a negative way to tell us exactly why. It seems to me that: 1- The overarching inputs by both fans and media are divided no matter whose name is been brought up. Clearly negativity is running wild and for every positive input there are at least three negative inputs based on gut feel or unnamed sources. 2- Most reports from the so called NY journalists will highlight at nausea why each candidate is not a good choice but not an ounce of value as to who instead would be a good choice and why. No names mentioned here as a few can hardly even be called journalists. 3- We as fans seem to rationalize the risks no matter what the candidates background is but not the upside. If the selectee did very well but benefitted from a great talent pool then he is suspect, conversely if he had a mediocre record with no talent he is also suspect, so I guess we are looking for the miracle guy that made a winner out of a bunch of scrubs. 4- As for GMs, well, the negatives are many, they are too young, did not draft well, he was not responsible for the tubal pick , he has ties to a HC we don't like, he is too quiet, our preferred HC would not like him, you name the rest. Let's face it. Our faith is in the hands of the dream team with Woody making the selection. That is a concern. The candidates are what they are, we ain't getting someone that doest not want to come here. That is also a concern. So we better hope that Wolf and company know a lot more about talent that the sidewalk superintendents that either write about it, or as us fans that desperately need a winner.
Marvez: Dan Quinn will be next Jets head coach January 8th, 2015 1:57 pm FOXSports senior NFL reporter Alex Marvez said he believes Dan Quinn will ultimately be hired as the Jets head coach, according to people he’s spoken to. Quinn, currently the Seahawks defensive coordinator, is one of the six men confirmed to have interviewed for the Jets coaching vacancy. Marvez appeared on the Dan Patrick Show on Thursday and said Quinn has already started reaching out to assistants on other teams for coaching opportunities with the Jets (DP Show, Jan. 8).
I was hoping we would not hire yet another defensive coordinator but Quinn looks to be one of the better options available.
Bu Would be greats news if listed as official. I understand the Jets cant officially hire them until the seahawks lose Though
I love some of you guys judging a potential GM by the talent on the team they come from. Too funny, you guys realize that means next to nothing when it comes to how they will fare as a GM? We have no idea what part they played in the actual drafting of these players. The only fact we know with this guy is Casserly has known him forever and is apparently very high on him. Whether that is a good or bad thing remains to be seen.
@BrianCostello Heard that Ron Wolf took the lead in the Maccagnan 1st interview since Casserly knows him so well and came away very impressed. #nyj
