They signed a tackling machine called Paul Worrilow as an UDFA and he made the NFL all rookie team the same year so give them credit for that.
Not sure we'll be able to hire Quinn in time for Trestman to come with him. He's a hot commodity at OC right now.
Can someone ANYONE please explain to me why we aren't atleast asking for an interview with Brian Kelly or Gus Malzahn?! These guys would both be my top two choices with whats available currently. Good offensive minds and i believe both would make good NFL coaches. Im beyond stunned neither have been brought up as SERIOUS candidates, with the weak candidates available!
So the Atlanta Falcons, who have been every bit as bad as us for two years now.......including losing at home to us.......are 1 Rex Ryan away from winning multiple Super Bowls ?
Does LaCanfora know what the hell he's talking about? Seems he's wrong more than he's right as it pertains to the Jets. Judging by his track record with this team he'll send out a tweet friday afternoon at 5pm saying Mora is the favorite for the Jets job now and pretend this one didn't happen. Schefter will break the news that he's hired on saturday and Mora will be introduced Monday morning....
Why not atleast ask for an interview? If they say no, fine move on. These two would be on the top of my list, I haven't read anywhere where the Jets have even reached out to either guy.... I don't understand why more people aren't pushing for either of these guys, especially with how weak the candidates are that are available right now.
That defense needs to be entirely rebuilt, it's going to take a while. Surely he did a great job making chicken salad out of chicken shit here with the Jets. Watch the Falcons ignore the offensive line while they continuously spend picks on defense.
Kubiak would not disappoint me. We could do a hell of a lot worse...even better if they bring Trestman with him
Well, maybe. They don't have Mangold at center nor D'Brick at the all important LT. The most dominant O-Line I recall was the Jets in 2009/2010. Outside that, probably 100% of teams need to invest annually in their O-Line, including us. Games are won in the trenches. We've been fortunate but even our best guys are getting long in the tooth. But back to Rex and the Falcons, let me ask you this: In 2009/10, if Rex Ryan and the Jets had Matt Ryan throwing the pig skin to Julio Jones and Devin Hester do you think the outcome may have been a bit different? I do. In 2009 we were beating Manning and the Colts 17-6 at half time, 30 minutes from the SB. Then Sanchez happened.
I thought sherry Rhodes blew the coverage? And of course it would be different with that trio on offense, it takes a complete team to make it to the big show.
100% wrong. Injuries to Shonn Greene and Donald Strickland happened. Both players were playing well and helping wear down the Colts D and hold down the Colt's passing game. When both left the game, their replacements crapped the bed. Thomas Jones grew old right before my eyes as he couldn't get ANYTHING going. Sanchez actually played well that game.
Trestman?I'm not a big fan of his ,all that talent on offense in Chicago and he couldn't get it done, what's he gonna do with Geno Smith?or who ever the QB is .Id pass
