Well worth the listen once ESPN posts today's show. Manish basically gets called out for being a muckraker and sounds like a babbling idiot. edit: Listen here
I knew something was going to happen because right before that they were talking about the baseball writers for the Hall of Fame selection committee screwing over people and throwing out baseless allegations and then casually said something like "and speaking of writers, Manish Mehta is coming up".
Kay calls him out for picking obvious sources to fit his anti-Marrone narrative, like the former Syracuse assistant who Marrone fired. Meanwhile, Parcells and a bunch of other credible NFL people all support Marrone as a good candidate and Manish doesn't mention them ONCE in his entire article.
what good coach has BP ever hired? his track record is Al Groh and Tony Sparano, he ran BB out of town.
ESPN and Kay has a relationship with the Jets. Doing this probably helped because Mehta probably doesn't have good standing within most of the Jets organization right now. Media in NY is a whole different game
You're missing the point. It's not a referendum on the coach. The point was that Mehta has an agenda and his reports are deeply biased. Marrone's qualifications are irrelevant in this discussion.
probably after seeing how Marone handled the Buffalo media, he's scared he's going to have to actually come up with some original football pieces when Marrone gives him nothing to work with (ala Bellicheck)
everyone has an agenda. you don't think BP has one? you don't think Kay has one? they all do. Kay is BUDDIES w/ Marrone. they both went to Fordham I believe.
Funny you said it... Kay mentioned this, saying that was more than 25 years ago. Even funnier, and predictably, you still missing the point. Yes, everyone has an opinion. However Kay talks about all candidates, and brings both positive and negative about them. In contrast, Mehta brings only negative. The little shit quotes college coach, but doesn't quote Parcells.
Just listened to the whole interview. That was a stellar job by Michael Kay and Don La Greca. They put him on blast. Long overdue
