the bottom line is 5 of his 8 starts came against what turned out to be the best teams in a loaded NFC. Mark needed to play better as did many others on that team but expecting him to be lights out wasn't fair. he did a good job and that should have been enough, he's not a guy that is going to carry a team. there aren't many of those guys out there though.
Why is that the bottom line? Why take it out of context? It's just like how you noted that the Seahawks team now is a better team than early in the season. Well, the Panthers now are better than they were when they were in the midst of a 7 game winless streak. And even then it's a stretch to say that they're one of the 4 best teams in the NFC because they happened to land a very favorable first round matchup.
the panthers got better a week later, Philly doesn't get credit for crushing that D? they are the last team to do it. they won the games they needed to win to get this far, they are one of the four best.
They get the same credit as the numerous teams to crush that defense earlier in the season. Maybe just a tad less when you factor in all the short scoring drives.
Dallas got the ball inside the Det 20 the other day and couldn't score a point. Good FP helps no doubt but you still have to score.
4 ppg difference which is probably due to their schedule getting harder. But you know all about that because you have been using it to defend Sanchez. So go on and flip the script and tell me how it doesn't matter now.
it's more though, right? they allowed over 30 PPG. 3 losses in 3 game losing streak allowed an average of 30 PPG, w/ Brady or Manning that would be hard to win. This doesn't absolve Mark, he could have been better but again he's an average QB, he is not Brady or Manning so is it fair to expect him to have to lead his O to over 30 PPG? against mostly good teams?
2-3 is always disappointing, especially with a loss to Washington with the season on the line. At the end of the day, he is anything but the future in Philly. Next year he will be a backup . . . again. And you will be telling us all how he is the future for some other team . . . again. And if their starter gets hurt, he will play, and if there are no injuries, he will sit on the bench. Sounds like Kyle Orton to me.
had they beaten Washington they still wouldn't have made the playoffs. it officially eliminated them(well, a day later) and it was disappointing but he played well overall that game. Made one mistake and it cost him. when Kyle Orton wins a playoff game(let alone 4 road ones) we can compare them.
He's made too many mistakes in his career, and until he learns how to limit those mistakes, he's never going to be anything more than someone's backup. What does it say about him, that in his precious second chance with another team, he couldn't avoid leading the league in turnovers over the course of the time that he played?
Yeah whatever. More talking out both sides of your mouth. I expected it As for the D allowing more yards through the air and on the ground, well, you were half right. The pass D declined a tad. The run D was better with Ryans out of the lineup. Which confirms what I suspected, you flat out made it up because you don't know shit about Demeco Ryans role in Philly's defense and you can't explain how his loss hurt the D so you got desperate and fabricated that the D allowed more yards on the ground. Let me guess, was that something that was not meant to be taken literally? You're a clown that doesn't understand this game.
QB is the most important position on the field, if you don't get quality play from your QB you are not winning.
he will make mistakes, he is not a great QB and never will be. some of the TOs were on him, some weren't, some were in big moments, some in meaningless. Just looking at the TO #s doesn't tell the whole story but it sounds good in a post.
But, that's the problem with Sanchez. He has always been a turnover machine. He had one year with an acceptable number of turnovers, and lo and behold, it was his best season, by far (2010). You wanna forgive one bad season with excuses for this pick and that pick, sure. But, when he's near the top of the league in turnovers every year outside of one, there is a problem. Every QB has some TOs that weren't his fault and some TOs that were in "garbage time," etc. Every QB has those excuses. Since week 9, only Sanchez has committed the most turnovers from the QB position.
why do you continue to make things up? where am I talking out of both sides of my mouth? a tad? 292 completions w/ Ryans in lineup for 2141 yds, 288 completions w/o him for 2368 yds. less completions w/ much more yardage setting up more short yardage situations so their YPC went down but they still ran the ball when they needed to against that Philly D posting raw #s w/o context. shocking! get back to me when you understand what you are watching and don't just look at cumulative #s.
You can say this about anyone. It doesn't mean it makes sense to assess individuals with team statistics.
when year after year despite top notch talent your QB cannot get it done there is an issue. it's hard to win in this league in January, not every QB can handle the pressure. Clearly Mark could.
