Simms is a buffoon. He's so hypocritical. If you have TiVo go back to the flea flicker play and listen to Simms saying Tate had a few steps on the defensive back. But now all of a sudden he can't get open? He's a moron. I also agree that this game goes way deeper than dalton being subpar. Not having a top 5 wr in this game along with your starting tightend is a tremendous uphill battle for most teams.
Dalton needs almost everything perfect around him to succeed, he especially needs the D to play well and to have all his weapons at his disposal. It will be interesting to see if Bengals finally cave and/or panic and just dump Lewis and Dalton. It's hard to judge objectively because it is 4 good seasons but then all ended in a bitter playoff defeat. Last year's loss was far worse though because they were a better team and at home against a so-so opponent. They were underdogs in this game and the Green/Gresham injuries did not help matters at all.
I think they have to can Lewis. He has had absolutely zero post season success. How many times can you make it but do absolutely nothing?
I would agree but 4 straight postseasons is an "accomplishment", taking any team to the playoffs 4 straight years, especially without a top QB. Its tough because they cannot guarentee they can find a decent replacement, they might have their eyes on say Quinn, but they have to fire Lewis first....I don't know. Lewis is going to get another pass, if they were to fire him, they should have done it last season, retaining him essentially gave him a couple more seasons. Lewis would make another interesting head coach candidate to. The whole playoff thing though is a HUGE stain on his resume right now..... San Fran might actually be a place for him to go.
Another big injury for Cincinnati this year was the loss Marvin jones for the year. Him and dalton had some decent chemistry last year
I do appreciate Cincinnati's willingness to stick with Marvin Lewis for so many years and maintain the continuity, but 0 playoff wins in 12 seasons is pretty bad. Rex Ryan won 4 in 2 seasons with Mark f'ing Sanchez at QB. And the Bengals seem to be a perennially talented team. You can make the case that the offense was missing many major players (AJ Green, Gresham, Marvin Jones, even Tyler Eiffert), but if I were that FO, I'd be considering a change this offseason and would almost certainly make one if next season doesn't result in some playoff success
No matter who wins this upcoming game, all 4 games next week will be awesome to watch, unlike this weekend.
The Colts D is terrible.....Dalton and Hue have to put up more than 10 points. This game was an abomination for the Bengals and Dalton.
The problem with these playoff losses is that every year the offense cant score and the defense gives up points. Its not like these games are like 24-27 losses, its 26-10, its 27-10, its 31-10, its 19-13....... No offense, defense not living up.... I would fire Lewis if I knew I had a viable replacement. Perhaps someone like Gary Kubiak can come in there and fix the offense immediately, and maintain a defense, but honestly I dont know if its even worth changing.
10 points, 13 points, 10 points, 10 points last 4 playoff games, and 14 points when the Jets beat em.
They are going to decline eventually. I thought they would this year but I guess it depends on there division.
With aj and Gresham both out you would think that Jeremy hill would have more than 13 attempts. That's on Lewis and hue Jackson.
