Cam has to play better but the last three times they played Seattle, they have been within a TD. They also played Seattle this year and lose 13-9. This time it will be in Seattle but ya never know really. If they can find a way to slow down Lynch it will put pressure on Wilson to make the big pass plays.

What's this, week 18 of "Cam has to play better"? He can't play better, he isn't better, he's mediocre, especially as a passer.

Panthers over Seahawks would be arguably the biggest upset in playoff history if it were to happen, but it won't. Not sure why the Panthers bandwagon around here, they are a horrible football team, just look at yesterday's game, the turnovers, the special teams miscues. If the Cards have a league average QB, they win no question. Instead they had the worst QB in playoff history. The Cards team that took the field yesterday goes 3-13 over a 16 game schedule, don't kid yourself.

The absolute best result Carolina could probably get is something similar to what the Rams did in week 17. Hard fought, D plays well, lose by 2 TDs because the offense can't score. That's best case scenario for them and I'm guessing Wilson and Lynch may have something to say about a better offensive performance than their last one.

DUDE -- not sure where all the Panthers hate is coming from.
Your so called horrible football team is one of only 3 to go undefeated in December. Horrible teams don't go undefeated in December. Get off the Dick.

Panthers are about the same as us, maybe slightly better because Newton is more of a playmaker than Geno. Not much difference in the teams, very similar in style of play and results on the field. Maybe your love for the Jets is clouding your judgment. I saw the 25th best team beat the 22nd yesterday, by strong advanced measurements, two terrible teams somehow in the playoffs.

Next week they probably visit #1. I wouldn't bet on it, although feel free to lose your money.

Umm he can play better for one game, im sure I can find games where he has played superb. Not impossible, we only need him to do it for a one game sample.

Well, going up against one of the greatest Ds of all-time would seem to be an improbable time for this to happen. He's also very banged up while Seattle is very healthy. You want to sell me Ravens competing with the Pats, I'll listen although I expect the Pats to win. I'm not debating Panthers-Seahawks beyond "any given Sunday," it's that much of a mismatch.

Exactly, they have been in must win games for over a month, have gone 5-0.

How many times do we see teams slip up? the Ravens friggin choked against the Jags a couple weeks ago....Panthers are getting the job done and now are three wins away from being world champs. They held the Falcons offense to 3 points on the road, held New Orleans to 10 points in the dome.....find me another defense that could hold the Falcons and Saints to a combined 13 points in there building.....in games that the Falcons and Saints had to win also....

I guess Rex's final legacy to the fanbase is making us appreciate crappy teams and assuming every team that ekes into the playoffs will go on some magical run.

Take a look at the Falcons and Saints game logs this season and tell me how much you are going to value victories over them. In 2012 maybe. It's 2015.

Umm bad teams but do you realize the Saints had the #1 overall offense? Atlanta the #8? Sure the teams might be overall bad but the offensive units are seperate from the rest of the team (im aware one unit impacts the other in terms of game flow/planning), but regardless, they shut the Falcons down. The same Falcons who put up 37 in Green Bay.

The Panthers record might not look pretty but if you look at the defensive unit, its getting the job done. If you look at the offense, its running the ball successfully. Both teams can play defense, both teams can run the ball. The difference is going to be how QBs and receivers do. Am I convinced Wilson can pass on the Panthers? Not sure honestly, if the Panthers defense can hold down the Falcons, then they can hold down the Seahawks pass game.

Its going to be a ballgame. Newton will have to have one of his best games obviously. Wilson has more margin of error to work with so he does not have to be perfect.

Well let's see what the spread is, and see if the public and Vegas agree on how you are perceiving this game. I'm guessing it opens at Seahawks -12 and rises to 13 or 14

    Better offense? Seahawks
    Better defense? Seahawks
    Better coach? Seahawks
    Better running game? Seahawks
    Better QB? Seahawks
    Massive home field edge? Seahawks

Remind me again why this will be close - oh that's right, a QB who threw the ball marginally better than Geno Smith this season is going to play a flawless game against an all-time great D and prevent them from sitting on the run all night.

Also the Seahawks offense struggles when you can overwhelm their line. A team like the Rams and the Niners to a lesser extent can do that. The Panthers have a good pass rusher in Johnson but the rest of DL is average. Their LBs are good but secondary has some holes. Wilson will make them pay with his arm and legs. I would predict 24-6 or something like that, best case for Panthers would be a 17-9 loss in which the Seahawks offense absolutely no-showed. I don't expect that. A score of 38-0 or something like that is also in play in my opinion and Newton not surviving the game is a very real possibility.

Look I picked Seattle to win the whole thing again, but this is not going to be a walk in the park.....

Carolina can play defense, Carolina can run the ball, Carolina can win in high pressure games (as they have shown over the past 5 games). If I am Seattle, I am not sleeping on them, Carolina's dangerous. This applies to the Packers also..... (we will find out who they draw later).

Seattle got a gift draw compared to the Packers assuming the Cowboys win. Newton or Romo? I mean come on. One guy played at an MVP level, the other guy was basically Geno Smith with better rushing numbers. Look at the past 6 weeks during which the Seahawks went 6-0 and held opponents to about 6 points per game. If that proved anything, it was that if you are bringing a mediocre QB against them, you have almost no chance. It is fair to question whether the Seahawks dominant display will hold up against Rodgers or Romo in the NFC CG, I would allow that. But Cam Newton? Are we watching the same sport? He deserved to get benched on more than one occasion this season and did himself no favors with a really weak home performance yesterday.

As for Carolina winning a high pressure game against a legit opponent? I recall the playoff game against the Niners last season in which they were badly exposed. In my opinion, they have not even proven they could be competitive against a top opponent, let alone go on the road and win against one. They have not beaten anyone legitimate this season. You are majorly underestimating how good Seattle is if you are using the Falcons, Saints, and Cards games as points of reference. I guess they could force an ugly game and not get blown out. I just think to expect Seattle to play terribly (which they would have to on offense for this to be close) is not showing much respect for the type of players and champions guys like Wilson and Lynch are.

For someone whose user name is "whysoserious" you come off as pretty angry and serious.

Your points aren't bad, your presentation sounds like you're arguing against someone who just insulted your mother.

I just can't believe I have to defend a team like the Seahawks on an NFL board, lol. I mean come on, this is a historically great team that is going to be matched up against one of the weaker playoff teams of all-time. This is not the NFC CG last season which was a 50/50 type game on paper.

I didn't expect to come on this board and see multiple posts acting like this is a toss-up game. The point spread is going to be huge in Seattle's favor, deservedly so

No what I meant was if the Packers draw the Panthers, and you are correct, Packers have no chance of beating Dallas, Panthers have a chance to beat Seattle.

No chance to beat Dallas? Have you not seen any Packer home games when they play a mediocre D? Rodgers lives for that.

I'm curious if you really believe this stuff. I've seen enough of nyjunc's posts to know that this board can be the Wild West when it comes to making crazy statements...

Have you seen Rodgers at home in the playoffs?

Pretty small sample size. I'm very familiar with Aaron Rodgers career and how he performs at Lambeau Field. I wouldn't bet against him.
