i like hearing we have reached out to Ballard and Pace.
2 real up and comers in my opinion. Outside of landing DeCosta, these guys topped my list (along with Gamble).

There is a connection between Marrone and Ryan Pace, as they worked together in New Orleans.

Profootballtalk is saying he still might get fired after Atlanta finds a coach

I wonder if Paces name came up during conversation with Marrone today. Quite the coincidence that we don't hear anything about Pace and then on same day we interview Marrone we are requesting to speak with a candidate that he has history with. Interesting..

Why is Marrone even a factor in the GM selection process? A middling, unproven coach with no playoff appearances.

After rejoicing over Idzik's firing I remain stunned that we are interviewing GM and coaching candidates at the same time. What are we saying during GM interviews? "Hey, any thoughts on Marrone?" This team never gets it right. Unreal.

we kind of have to do both at once, the timing of it all being what it is.

waiting for every GM on your list to be interviewed before you even sniff a coach makes sense in a bubble, but in reality we're competing with several other teams for candidates and coaches like quinn only have but so much time to be interviewed.

its taken longer than a week to find a GM, imagine us choosing a GM tomorrow and only THEN starting our search for a coach and asking for interviews. there would have been opportunity cost and we would complain about how incompetent woody is for being late to the party.

this isn't an exact science you do what you must when you're on the clock.

La Canfora reports that Marrone and Maccagnan can be hired by end of the week.

(it is interesting as I know Maccagnan will interview tomorrow with us)

It is starting to piss me off that no matter what GM is named the only feedback we seem to get is his relationship to Marrone. Is like all of the sudden he is the only coach that matters or even considered seriously. What kind of interviews are we conducting for Pete's sake. WTF, are we now trying to find a GM that fits the HC before we have even exhausted all the options?

This is simply how the media is spinning it because they have no other information. I highly doubt Woody and Pace are talking about Marrone during the GM interview much, if at all.

Agree. Another blatant example as to how putrid the NY media is towards anything relating to the Jets.

I'm to the point where Terry Bradway coming back as GM and Lou Holtz returning as head coach is a better scenario than Doug Moron taking over this franchise.

lol. What exactly are you afraid of? Marrone isn't my first choice either, but if he comes here he will have already failed before he's made a single move due to fans like you.

Hes horrible, he hasn't won anywhere. The defense won him his games in Buffao and his offense which is what he's suppose to be good at sucked. People want a guy with head coach experience and that's fine but don't bring in a loser. I'd much rather have Kubiak or a coordinator who is at least a good coach on one side of the ball. I would take any of the guys the Bills are interviewing before him. And no if he does actually become our coach I'll have no choice but to support him but I won't be surprised when we are looking for a new coach in 2-3 years.

Lou Holtz did give birth to the Jets fight song, so he did accomplish something before he bailed
