If I had to guess? I'd say he's gone RT @SteveRosenberg Is Chip staying 50/50 at this point or worse?

The huge thing is that with 3 years left on his contract, the Eagles owner would have to give Kelly permission to coach another NFL team before the end of the contract (assuming he quits). IMO that makes it more likely he scampers back to college. If he gets fired though, it's fair game. I wonder if there's a buyout clause in the contract? I'd assume the Jets would be more than willing to pay it.

No way he comes here even if he bolts Philly. San Fran makes the most sense considering Kaepernick could run his offense as well as any QB in the league.

Hah. Well, I think there are more possibilities than either sticking with Geno or trading up to get Mariotta.

Chip Kelly is not going to work under Jed York or Balkae. Kelly, like Harbaugh, wants to be completely in charge of the draft and personnel.

Howie Roseman runs the draft; it would make no sense for Kelly to go to San Francisco, especially when you consider the issues Harbaugh had there.

I hope we reach out to Chip Kelly, but he has to know immediately that Mariota is a pipe dream.

Hard to not get excited about this.

If Kelly came here, maybe he could also lure Maclin and begin transforming this Offense immediately.

I don't want to get too excited, because we are the Jets after all - so nothing ever works out for us.

I do think if we landed Kelly that you got to keep Percy Harvin.
I can't even imagine the shit that Kelly would come up with, but I would expect Harvin to be very productive in his system.

If this is remotely true Woody should hand coach Kelly a blank check. Guy is an innovator

Harbaugh is an egomaniac..Kelly is just pissed that Gamble was fired.

So I dont think its quite a power struggle over control.

Then Good Luck with the advertising possibilities down in Tampa, along with Lovie Smith, a defensive guy.

Kelly is useless without a QB just as most others are but he is especially so. He wouldn't come here on a bet.

Chip Kelly is known as an egomaniac(apparently, he's a tough guy to work with) , yes , he has some control, but he wants FULL Power.

The guy cut Desean Jackson, because of his ego.

There's no way he can go to San Francisco to work under those guys. It just doesn't make sense.

Little more sense then him coming here IMO. I think Harbaugh and York's issues went a little beyond team control.

Plus to me Kelly's accomplished nothing to suggest he could have full power in an organization and be successful.

It's sounding like Lurie is gonna be able to appease Roseman and Kelly while also retaining both.

Kelly is not worth it, what I have noticed is he has fallen into the same trap that Rex has fallen into. Rex paid no attention to offense because he believed his defense could shut down the other teams offense. Well Kelly believes his offense can outscore any other offense so having a defense is not important....

That is because it is pretty much the definition of college football right now.

Pretty much the definition of football in general, but as we saw in the Super Bowl, when an all time offense met a great defense, the defense won

If Chip Kelly somehow becomes available without compensation due the Eagles for signing him Lovie Smith is going to be out on his ass in TB a minute later and the Bucs will hire Kelly and draft Mariota.

Kellys done long term in the NFL. I see through him.....and keep in mind, if it wasnt for his ridicolous special teams, that Eagles season could have been much, much worse.

I just do not believe Kelly's forumla is a Super Bowl winning formula, you cant expect to just outscore teams all through the season, and then go into January and continue to just outscore. It eventually catches up..... He needs to learn that defense is important, as is controlling the clock and sustaining long drives. To much room for error the way he plays it.
