Patrick Ewing was the hands down best player in the country the year he was drafted. Had 0 issues off the court. Big difference.
But he's right lol The game was close the entire first half. Neck and neck. A rookie running back fumbles the ball twice on two drives giving Oregon the ball in FSU territory. Both led to a TD. Winston fumbles the ball that leads to an Oregon TD. Winston throws a pass into the receivers arms that bounces out of his hands and into the hands of an oregon player that led to a TD. These are all bone headed turnovers that led to four TD's. 3 fumbles and a pick that bounced out of the receivers hands. I'd say that's a lose because of dumbass turnovers, not because they were outmatched. Anyone who watched that game knows that. It's the hatred for a school and player that makes it into something it's not.
They did beat themselves though. Turnovers did them in. Might've been a different game without it. Winston wasn't exactly articulate in making the point and probably should've worded it differently but nobody wants to draft him for his public speaking abilities. Just his arm.
The point has nothing to do with anything that happened on the field last night. It's how he handles himself and it's not good, almost ever.
People keep pointing little shit out as reasons that "make this dipshit look like a moron", when the only dipshit you are making to look like a moron, is yourself. Get over it. It's one thing to not like a player, it's an entirely different thing to blindly hate on someone and make yourself look like a fool. "Look at him! He's such a whiner" "I want no part of him! He doesn't know how to lose" "Did anyone see his after the game comments? What a dipshit" The biggest fuckin whine bag vagina of a person is a Hall of fame QB in this league: Tom Brady. You wanna sit here and talk about a QB who whines? Post game comments? You mean the comments that are 100% accurate. And honestly, you truly give a shit about what a player says in a post game after he just lost one of the biggest games of his career? The stupidity here is strong.
Yea, it's only HERE that people think Winston has absolutely no sense of how to handle himself, is immature and has some major red flags. Only here on TGG. Unless by "here" you meant "this country" in which case you nailed it. Aren't you a big FSU fan? Don't lash out at everyone else because you're team got embarrassed.
you are right. then why did you bring up the point originally and bitch about it if it has nothing to do with him on the field?
...because the point was he handled himself like a child in front of the national media which is a new chapter in the book of red flags.
Your going to get your chance to judge him when he declares for the draft. ESPN and NFL network are going to drag out all his dirty laundry. I think he has all the skills needed for a NFL top 10 QB and I think he's going to be there when the Jets pick at 6.
He made some NFL throws last night and wouldn't mind drafting him. FSU's defense is terrible, so I didn't take much stock in Marriota's performance. I want Winston, but he won't be there at 6.
It's interesting because when I watch him in interviews I feel similarly to you, but when I watch him on the field, and how he interests with his teammates, I see a happy, optimistic leader who is respected by his peers. If that can translate to the NFL, his personality may not be a red flag at all. If he cannot mature, he certainly has more of a vocal leadership ability than does Mariota. Winston won't be the Jay Cutler of our league, that's for sure.
Oregon was clearly the better team last night. They outplayed, outprepared and outcoached FSU. Mariota looked very good and Winston looked shaky for much of the game, as his whole team did. The freshman RB on FSU Dalvin Cook is a stud. It was a shame that he had two costly turnovers because he was the only one producing for their offense. FSU came in cocky and Oregon came in with something to prove. It showed all game.
If the Bucs draft Mariota and no one trades up, I bet Winston slides to 6 and possibly further. Titans might be set with Mettenberger, Jags and Raiders have Qbs, and Redskins are a wildcats but I can't see them picking a Qb with off-the-field issues right now with all of their problems. Jets could easily pass on him too, but personally I would take Winston when it's said and done.
Oregon > Florida for sure. But looking at the two Qbs tells a different story. This might not convince you, but take a look: http://mweb.cbssports.com/nfl/draft...a-not-as-good-winston-not-as-bad-as-you-think Winston looked poised and made some NFL-level passes. Mariota looked good when he focused on bubble screens and short passes, but he overthrew quite a lot and nearly had 2 ints. Winston's only int was the receiver's fault. The fumble was his biggest mistake.
Funny you bring up Cutler. That's exactly how I view him. He's a guy who has the arm and talent to be a very very good QB but doesn't have the mental capacity to put it all together. I obvioisly can't state that factually considering Jameis is 20 years old or whatever, but that's just how I see him turning out unless he drastically turns it around, and if he's coming out this year he's going to have to do it on the fly. Do you really want him riding the pine having to talk to the NY media about wanting to play? Or God forbid we drafted and started him... do you want him having to deal with all the losing?
The fact that you think this is about us losing is hysterical. We've won 29 games in a row. Won a national championship last year and finished both seasons undefeated. You honestly believe that I'm pissed like this because we lost? Lol No, it's not just said here. It's said everywhere, and that's the problem. Everyone loves to hate and loves to make bullshit claims to make headlines. You realize ESPN has 164 people employed for one reason. One reason. That reason? To follow Jameis Winston. I kid you not. That's their job. 164 of them. I remeber being his age. I played collegiate sports. I was under the microscope. I messed around. Got in trouble. Was suspended once. Was ridiculed. But you know what I learned? I was a dumb college student and I was immature. And you know what else I realized? I didn't regret a second of it. None of it. People preach like they are all saints. Winston is a college student living his life to the fullest. He makes dumb mistakes and says dumb things. But that's all part of growing up. And I know the attorney who was involved in Winstons case for the rape scandal. The facts of the case are also online to view. If you even remotely think he is guilty after reading them, you are delusional. He also sat in front of a supreme Court with a judge who has a history of putting big time players behind bars, especially at FSU, and they could not find any evidence to convict him. Believe what you want and say what you will, but the hatred is blinding you and making you look very foolish.
Well I wanted Teddy Bridgewater last year. And I want Winston this year. Anything we do all amounts to a pile of shit until we get our franchise QB. So I'm all for using our 6th pick for him. If he flames out, all good. Back to the drawing board. But he looks like he has a good chance to be a franchise QB. But we'll see.
Bullshit. You just shit on him for what he said. You just said that he is a dipshit moron for thinking Oregon didn't beat them and what he said. You then went on and said this isn't about football because he was right. Like I said, making yourself look foolish.
