Means shit if you are excellent at what you do...An intelligent player with great route running and excellent hands.

I am not saying he is this player but Jerry Rice is 6"2 and look at how freaking effective he was.

Would anyone who screamed for Manziel last year please excuse themselves from this conversation. You know who you are.

Well sure you'd love a bigger guy like Megatron or Randy Moss. The ideal size for a big time receiver you draft that high. But like you said Jerry Rice was the best of all time.

Does that mean you were one of the guys who wanted Manziel at all costs?

Well FSU turnovers sealed the Rose bowl.

What do you guys think of the QB prospects after watching?

One game does not define prospects, I would still take Winston over Mariota, but if neither are available, I would take an offensive lineman, if a lineman is not available, I would take an OLB.

A WR with the 6th pick is crazy, that's how Matt Millen tried to build a team and while megatron is great, they were a disaster until the next GM came in and addressed the Oline.

Look at what the Cowboys have done by drafting oline with their 1st round pick three consecutive years.

I don't like Jerry jones but I have to give him credit for what he has done by staying away from the flashy pick and bldg a team the right way. It starts in the trenches.

I came away with more question marks than answers. Mariota sailed a lot of his throws, throws that get picked off in the NFL. I think he's going to have a fairly big learning curve. Don't get me wrong, he's still my pick if he's there, but in this market, I'm not convinced he's going to cut it because I think he's going to need a lot of seasoning. But the NY media and fans will eat him alive if he doesn't hit the ground running. If they give him a chance to learn the pro game and develop, I think he could be a very good NFL QB, potentially elite.

Winston, on the other hand, despite the mistakes, actually still impressed me surprisingly. I now saw more than ever in this game how much he tries to do on his own out there. I don't think he's an uber prospect, but he certainly showed he can make all the throws. He also impressed me, at least during the game, with how he handled adversity, especially when he supported Cook after his 2nd fumble. I see a cross between Big Ben and Flacco. Not saying the best of both, but a cross. The talent is certainly there and he just needs to come into the NFL and be told to play a role instead of be the hero. The off field issues concern me, but I don't profess to know how an individual was raised morally. Not giving him a pass by any means, but it's not like the NFL doesn't have its share of screw ups. If he can clean up his off field behavior, then he's got a good chance to be an upper tier QB because I think he shows the dedication the position calls for. Though these talks of playing baseball concern me, I wonder if it's heat of the moment speak.

I would not give that credit to him. Its a trend that the Patriots started surely. Their mantra seems to be that with a solid Oline even scrubs as receivers will eventually get open and with a QB like Brady he can connect with them. Romo is a pretty decent QB to build around. Any QB should elevate their play if they have time to throw. So I agree. Go O-line.

But that's the correct way. Teams do just fine with lesser known WRs. Get a solid QB, build an o-line so he has all day to throw, and get a pass rush so you can disrupt the other team's QB. Every other piece is complementary.

Did anyone hear what this dipshit Winston said after the game? Got all snippy saying that the media needs to realize FSU beat themselves, Oregon didn't beat them. This kid is gonna flame out big time and I hope it's not in NY.

he's partly right, they fumbled the game away. You're the dipshit for not wanting him on the Jets, he'd be our best drafted QB prospect in eons.

You're the dipshit for thinking that justifies picking him.

I like this theory and have wanted priority OL the past 2 seasons, but excuse my ignorance; is there a blue-chip OL prospect worthy of #6 overall this season?

Not really, the 'boys finally remembered how they won all those SBs in the 90s...... and made Emmit the all-time rushing leader.

Says the guy who wants to take a player with the 6th pick in the draft just because he might be better than the last two terrible QBs we took. Solid strategy. Guess we should have taken Mettenberger first round last year.

that's the equivalent of saying Patrick Ewing wasn't worth having on the Knicks because he would always say the Knicks were the better team after ever playoff loss.

that's not what he is saying at all. he's saying Winston is a legitimate top QB prospect and worth taking at that spot, and as that top prospect is better than any QB we had taken previously. that's not hard to understand but damn hard to misunderstand and come to your interpretation.

Mettenberger was not a top QB prospect.
