But did he accept a GM interview anywhere else? The rumor is that he's happy with the Vikings, so I wouldn't necessarily read a lot into that unless we hear that he's interviewing with other teams.

I am hoping that the fact that decosta hasn't turned down our interview request yet (at least publicly) is a good thing.

i don't think woody would offer him enough $$$ to tempt him into leaving baltimore.

Pipe dream at this stage but:

A decosta / Bowles tandem could give this franchise a stable, winning foundation for the next 10 years

    Would be my ideal scenario

@AlbertBreer: Both Ravens ass't GM Eric DeCosta and Vikings ass't GM George Paton have told teams they are staying put. So 2 off the market, for now.

What about Pioli? I know he got booted outed of KC but a lot of KCs recent wins had a lot do with the talent Piolio brought in. He never was able to find a QB, but that just happens....

Let's be real -- the top guys are not coming here and to think that the premature firing of Idzik doesn't weigh into the thought process, you are naive.
    Thanks Woody.
    Thanks Billboard Boy.

But I was told none of that stuff would matter to any possible candidate. Weird.

I wouldn't be surprised if candidates are irked by the quick firing of Idzik but do we have any proof that that has actually happened yet? I mean surely DeCosta not wanting to interview isn't proof. He never does.

It's something that every candidate has to weigh if they decide to take the job.

Feel Great about the Rex firing.
Feel Shitty about the Idzik firing.

The same way I felt before the season, half way through the season, with 2 weeks to go in the season and the way I did the day it happened.

They did the right thing imo. If you fire one you have to fire the other. Although you can make an argument for Idzik never getting the chance to pick his own coach. What they should've done was to treat Rex as if he's a new coach meaning to pretend as if 09-12 happened under a different coach. Then you give the Rex/Idzik regime time to put things together.

Insisting on getting his own coach may have had something to do with it...

I actually like Trent Kirschner and Dan Quinn combo. I live in Seattle and most of the people here (media and the fans) believe that Trent is really a good personnel guy.
