I agree, but I'm just not interested in bringing in a mediocre turnover machine as a veteran stopgap. I'd honestly rather just let Geno compete with a draft pick and let whoever loses that competition be the backup. I guess I just don't see the 'football perspective' that makes bringing back Sanchez the prudent decision.
Mark Sanchez, Geno Smith, and Mike Vick will never, ever be starting quarterbacks in the NFL. They are simply not good enough. Only the late Rex Ryan, Geno Smith, and Mark Sanchez think they're good enough. Mike Vick is smart enough to know he's no longer starter competent. Some of you people are stuck on a dime.
We can discuss Sanchez from a strictly football perspective ... he's not a good QB. He's not even an average QB. Statistically, he is consistently one of the worst QBs in the league. There is literally no individual metric where he grades out as even above-average as a starting NFL QB at any point in his career. And the vast majority of individual metrics commonly used to grade QBs finds him scraping the very bottom of the barrel at all points of his career. When he had the best offensive line and running game in the NFL, he was still terrible - statistically and subjectively. He's just not good.
A QB needy team bringing in a guy who many consider at the top of the FA list at that position this year is not looking at it from a football perspective? BTW I'm not for bringing him back.
Rex loves Mark and he still has that tattoo. Bring him to Buffalo I'm sure their fans will love another butt fumble.
Re-sign Mark? Depends on how he does at his tryout. There is more to it than just yelling "PROGRAM", you also have to be able to make change.
Oh, it is, but if you are telling me that the best free agent QB available is Mark Sanchez (and I think that is the case), then it's simply not the year to be looking to fill the QB need in free agency.
Possible free agent quarterbacks. Matt Moore Colt McCoy Brian Hoyer Jake Locker Michael Vick Christian Ponder Blaine Gabbert Shaun Hill Jason Campbell Matt Flynn Tarvaris Jackson Ryan Mallett TJ Yates Tyrod Taylor Jimmy Clausen Austin Davis
That's completely fair opinion but it doesn't mean that those interested in bringing him in are not looking at it from a football perspective. BTW I had the same opinion on us acquiring the best FA QB, RB and WR last year.
If you ever feel like you want Sanchez back just look at my avatar and that should take care of any of those feelings lol
at least when i argue with junc i feel as though its insane but at least calculated. no thank you, he is an average qb, who turns the ball over consistently and is still not very accurate. its not a hot topic, its a topic a few ball washers keep bringing up because they yearn for the glory years of 54 percent completion percentage and more ints than tds.
