    He is, in fact, terrible.
In NO SP was the de facto OC and play aller.
Dougie was an OC in name only - his actual responsibility was admin and the O-line.

Exactly, and with Orton as qb, it doesn't exactly sound like 9 wins but he was able to win 9 games......

    He's a safer pick than a coordinator....

    Actually not.
Schwartz ran the D and btw is a more senior member of the NFL coaching confraternity.
Even DM would tell you that. He's never claimed to be a defensive specialist.

Your opinion is not fact, just saying. For some reason I trust the opinion of people ya know in the NFL over some butt hurt Bills fan.

Just wait till he brings in Nathanial Hackett as his OC.
Oh and by the way it was Russ Brandon who first approached Schwartz.

    Notabillsfan. Not butthurt.
I would not trust the so called experts if they are pushing Marrone.
I can see Woody falling for it tho.
    That's my concern.

The more I read and the more I think about it, I don't want him. I don't want this soap opera coming here. I don't really think he's that good. Sounds like he was upset with the media in Buffalo, so if true, this is a train wreck waiting to happen. I don't know. If he's a better head coach than the other guys, I don't think it's by much, so I'd rather give it to someone who's coming with a little less media baggage at this point. And I don't think he's anything near a slam dunk anyway. In fact I think quite the opposite. He's a lightning rod. Not something we need here.

    Is it me?
    Or does anyone else enjoy?
The way that Can Grande posts.
    In short simple sentences.

He had Kyle Orton at QB. Thats a pretty good reason.

To me Marrone just represents a different philosophy which would be nice to see.

The Jets love the defensive coordinator who is taking his first Head Coaching job. Marrone is an offensive mind who has experience being "the man".

To me he's know different than all the other names we've heard. Unless your gonna get a Harbaugh (not available) how is Marrone any different from a Josh McDaniels or Adam Gase?

Why would we hire a middle of the pack OC as our HC?! Bowles or Quinn is our best option

I would most certainly take Reich over Marrone. No question in my mind. Reich in my eyes has a better resume than Marrone despite the HC experience.

Ok so I'm not Herman Melville (or whatever his name is) and I know I'm not coming across well being so negative.
But I've just spent two years listening to knowledgeable Billsfans complain about this guy, including my friggen brother who I have to put up with 24/7, and observing their misery has been a joy.
But now the tables are turned and they are laughing at me.

obviously Schwartz ran the defense. that doesn't mean DM didn't manage the entire team like a good head coach normally would.

Dude.. It is documented and known that Sean Payton called the offensive plays. Do some research for fuck sakes.

I know who called the plays, I also know who was the OC. Whether he called the plays or not doesn't change the fact that Payton thought highly of him, evidenced by the fact that he gave him the OC position.

If this sad shit sack of an organization hires Doug Marrone to replace Rex Ryan I may just have to pull the plug on my fandom. Someone aptly said it. Doug Marrone is EXACTLY the type of coach we would have hired in the 80's/90's. Mother F'er...if we revert back to SOJ it WILL be the end as far as I'm concerned. I swear to christ...the lot of you that think Marrone is the next coming of freaking Vince Lombardi or Bill Walsh better extract your heads from your asses in real fuckin' short order. If you ass clowns hadn't noticed...the NY Jets don't have a QB either...we don't even have a Kyle Orton. We sure a shit do not have a C.J. Spiller and most definitely do not have a Sammy.

    What a freakin' waste...
