I have no idea why Manish already is sour on Marrone. I guess its because Marrone has always been tough to deal with up in Buffalo with media and I guess the media guys and gals have to stick together rather than be professional about it.

Without Marrone(And Rex), Manish's buttbuddy doesn't have his gig in Cleveland. Lets not forget about that, Manish.

That is ridiculous. Schefter is the most respected journalist in all of football.

Show me any incident of bias or criticism that Schefter has ever had.

Also why would a coach and a journalist have the same agent?

I agree.....for still being a younger guy.....he knows a lot of football. They just need to keep the paint brushes away from him. LOL

You clearly overrate Rex. 2009-2010 put some fantasy in your head or something. Hard to go backwards from (4-12). The Jets are going Forward.

Mangini is 0 for 2 in terms of people skills. Maybe as an Asst. Coach he's ok but when you turn over the power to him he's Machiavellian. But as for a front office job, maybe even as GM. Worth an interview. Except for one small thing: Woody can't stand him.

There may be some back door issue between the two but if one establishes a perceived "quitting" pattern, it can be tough to shake off.

I could get behind a Mangini interview! Superior talent evaluator and a fine football coach. Has his people skills improved. Let's find out.

you're talking to a guy who only shows up to talk about the jets when the bills are involved. almost like he's a bitter bills fan pretending to be a jets fan.

If Vince Lombardi was around the internet naysayers like him would be crapping on him. Do you think Vince would have looked twice at this turd. He would have totally ignored him which is what hopefully Marrone will do if hired.

I'm really not excited about Maroone but id settle for him ,I just don't see a better option ,atleast nothing that's visible anyway.Maybe Quinn,Gase,Or Bowles is the next best coach or maybe they are terrible there's to many unknowns with all of this

And this is where you and I disagree...I saw no digression in Ryan's ability to coach. What I did see was a digression in talent on our team. The job Ryan did last year was a testament to his coaching ability. However, you can only mask the warts so long before they overtake everything. I'm a realist. I have no fantasy notion of what was the last 4 years. But I also BELIEVE that Ryan was a lesser part of the digression of our team as opposed to the FO. In Tanny we had a guy who was running out of "Peters to pay Pauls" and Idzik was merely an unmitigated fuck up from the get go. I have no doubt that Ryan had to go...but ONLY if we are able to UPGRADE!!!!!! Key word...UPGRADE upgrade upgrade....ugghhhhh....

What does a quitting pattern mean though? He is looking out for him and his family by going to a job with more financial stability this time around. He left Syracuse to pursue a chance to be an NFL head coach after being an NFL assistant before going to college ranks, what's wrong with that? He inherited a mess left by Robinson in Syracuse and got Cuse to be decent, even if that Syracuse team only ended up going .500 during Marrone's tenure.

Bobby Petrino quit on Atlanta less than a year in to go back to college and left a napkin note behind for the players. I don't consider this quitting. He probably wanted more financial stability for he and his assistants, the new ownership(understandably) said no, you haven't accomplished anything and Marrone with a wacky opt out in his clause to get 4 million went to do that and to pursue a gig, whether on the pro or college level with more financial stability and where he doesn't have to watch over his shoulder constantly.

The 2 main reasons why this team will be better next year regardless of who we hire are 1.) no Idzik so the roster will constructed better and 2.) easier schedule. This would be the case w or w/o Rex being the HC in 2015.

Agree and that's why its in quotes. Everyone has a right to improve themselves professionally and financially but if u establish a string of opt-outs, it's a concern regardless of his thinking at the time......
I would bet the Jets will protect themselves in the contract between them.

So I see that was a retweet by Manish, it seems Gary Myers is the fool who said that stuff so I wanna be fair to Manish despite the retweet.

Boy the NY Daily News has some winners employed. Isola who's ego is bigger than the Burrough of Manhattan, Manish Mehta and Myers now.
