One more point to note, taking this posters statement, for all those ass hats who quote the scores of the games we played Buffalo. How many points from those games were scored by the DEFENSE and not the utter fucktard supposed brilliance of the supremely talented (not) offensive minded Marrone? Those scores are the way they are because of Buffalo's defense...NOT their offense. Oh, also add our completely inept secondary into the mix as well...I can think of at least 21 of the total points due to our waste of a secondary.
He didn't quit on anything, he wanted some stability for him and his assistants, its not Marrone's fault the Bills got new ownership after he became head coach. I am not a big Saint Doug fan either but I don't blame him for this move. New ownership has no ties to Marrone and his assistants, they would keep him for 2015 and if they had a bad year, would get rid of Marrone and Marrone misses out on some financial opportunities like what he has now. He did what any human being would do. All college football and college basketball coaches do this, if their mid major team kicks ass they strike the pot while it is hot and get a bigger job. Its called taking care of yourself and your family and friends(Coaches).
Again coaches like security and he apparently didn't think he had it with the Bills new ownership. He didn't just quit he asked for an extension and they refused which means he might not have been in their plans. As for killing this guy because he punted on 4th down etc. If he gets the job we'll see hopefully he doesn't bring Hackett's son with him. If I'm Woody I go after him right now, today. If not he's going to sign with another team like either Atlanta or the 49ers.
So there is no potential candidate out there who has never been a HC that could be a great HC when given the opportunity? The only possible better coaches are Cowher and Saban, and if not them then nobody could be better than Marrone? I just want to confirm that is what you meant to argue because it's what you have said.
Have you seen Cinci's offensive skill talent? Some of the best in the NFL. AJ Green, Gio Bernard, Sanu, Hill, Gresham, Eifert. I think based on this level of personnel that Jackson has done a decent job, 15th overall reflects what I think of him. He's average middle of the road.
If you think Marrone should be rated miles ahead of HJ then I feel sorry for you. If Woody thinks like you I feel sorry for all of us.
I have a hard time taking people's opinions on head coaches seriously when they think Rex is a good head coach.
Yeah except most of them were injured all year long. smh I'm not "Pro" HJ but to think the guy is on the level of Marrone is not accurate. Marrone would just be an awful hire period.
Let me go on record here as agreeing...I'm not bemoaning what he did...so be it. I will bemoan if his ulterior motive was to come to the Jets as I don't want him. He does NOTHING for me or for our team and we will be worse for it. This would show that Woody Johnson simply does not get it...never will get it...
I'm not defending the guy he just looks to be the best qualified. Plus his team in Buff was on the way up not down. The other candidates are truly shots in the dark with no head coaching experience anywhere. As for the Bills fans giving us a heads up on just how bad this guy is. I'm sure you're really not too concerned with the future excellence of the Jets franchise. Aren't you the same people I saw at Met Life in Oct giving the Jets team (and us) a lot of shit when the Bills kicked our ass. It was our building and you acted like we weren't even there. It made me go from being a neutral observer when it comes to the Bills to putting them just under the Patriots and Fins on my "To hate" list. Their taunting esp chanting that lamo Bills cheer continued on NJ Transit all the way to Penn Station. Good luck hiring a new coach, I hear that Chan Gailey and Rex are available.
You have me confused...explain WHY he should get an extension? Hold Marrone to the same standard as you want to hold Rex and explain why the Bills management should have given him an extension? No playoff appearances... complete flush of a young QB (and he's an offense guy)...yeah...why should have have job security.
How does he have no heart or balls? He's spoken up to Whaley and management plenty of times in fact before the season. You can say he opens his mouth more often than not in fact. Any person with a brain would have bolted the Bills predicament. They are the best option for any head coach but that is because the new owner and (Maybe) the GM will be picking this head coach, Marrone didn't get that same luxury. Mike Pettine left the Bills DC job after 1 year for a better opportunity in Cleveland, that doesn't mean he's a quitter. It means he's smart because he wanted to be a head coach and is coming off a very good year(Before anyone knew just how damn good the Bills Front 7 were) to earn himself the payraise. Their offense was shit because they had shit at QB and their RBs are fragile for the most part(Well Spiller, Jackson was unlucky) and because the team didn't do shit to address their offensive line and had a 7th round rookie command one of the two tackle positions. I am not a fan of his game managing and I think Nate Hackett is a lousy signal caller but I don't blame Marrone at all for what he did.
Then you will have a hard time with a lot of people's views then considering the recent poll that was put up to determine who the best HC was since Parcells. RR dominated that poll on this forum. I have eyes, I have seen terrible fucking coaches with this team, RR never gave me that impression and was a breath of fresh air in comparison to other coaches we've been subjected to. There is nothing wrong with that. RR is gone, he's not coming back. I myself being a RR supporter, is letting that fact and situation go, it's over. Time to move on, maybe you should too? You should be happy, you got your wish, but If we hire a guy like DM I think you will see exactly what a lot of us are talking about. Careful what you wish for man.
This guy gets his team ready to play. I know we were 4-12 but his team kicked our ass without even practicing that 2nd time around ....
But you, and others, cite this is/was one of Rex Ryan's primary faults....game management. Let's not forget Marrone's complete shit the bed on E.J. Manuel...and he's an OFFENSE guy! LOL!!!! The double standard is deafening.
Why should anybody care that he's from the Bronx or that he used to be the OL coach? Rex and Idzik both had sentimental NYJ ties. How did that work out? It's completely irrelevant. Marrone's continual Joe Walton "I hate myself and want to die" facial expression is not exactly one I want as the face of my franchise. Go get me GM decosta and let him hire his own guy.
