    • Best HC option: Art Briles-HC Baylor University
    • Pros: College Coaches are trending well in the NFL.
    • Briles runs a QB friendly offense very similar to the one Geno ran in college to combine with a ready made defense.
    • Major head coaching experience
    • Built a program that was in shambles before he arrived
    • Good personality/Good with media
    Cons
    • Zero NFL experience
    • Will offensive system translate?
    • Waco TX vs NYC
    • NFL connections? Hire a staff

Worst HC option: Dan Quinn, DC Seattle Seahawks

    Why he would fail?

Quinn/Carroll's defensive system is the antithesis to Rex Ryan's, and the Jets DO NOT have the personnel that Quinn needs to be successful. I see Dan Quinn and the Jets as fitting a square peg into a round hole. Not to mention Quinn is extremely young, and we will be dealing with another "learning on the job" mantra with regards to game management.

The Jets need an innovative offensive mind to come in and install a QB friendly system.

NO MORE DEFENSIVE MINDED HEAD COACHES!

NO MORE YOUNG ASSISTANTS WITH NO HEAD COACHING EXPERIENCE !

    NO MORE YOUNG

I actually think that's a good reason to get him. I think their type of defensive system has had more success in the NFL lately than Rex's. Both Rex's and his brother Rob's defenses have been bad lately, while Seattle's simple system has been dominating all time great offenses. Ryans' defense depends on having elite corners, which are hard to get. Simple 4-3 defenses with cover schemes can often make do with inferior corners. There is a reason why both Rex's and Rob's defenses were at the bottom in terms of turn-overs. They make players think so much with all the complex stuff going on, it puts them at a disadvantage when it comes to making a play. And even when Rex had elite corners, his defense eventually folded on the big stage, against Manning in 2009, and against the Steelers next year.

Furthermore, I don't think it would be that difficult to retool our defense into the type they have in Seattle. We can easily move Coples back to the D-Line, which is his better position anyway. Richardson, our best player, is a natural 3 technique tackle anyway, so he will benefit from this. Then we can either use Snacks or Wilkerson as the NT, and either move Wilkerson to outside DE or trade him for good picks. Great free agent DEs available this year in JPP, Greg Hardy, not sure if Justin Houston can play 4-3 DE, he s a bit small, but it's possible. Linebackers would be the biggest challenge, but as it happens, both of Seattle's OLBs are FAs this offseason, Malcolm Smith and KJ Wright. And Quinn would definitely give us an inside track on signing them, also I heard Seattle is grooming young OLBs to take their place, as they cant afford to spend much money on them. Pair Smith, Wright and Demario Davis, and you have a very fast 4-3 linebacking core. Pace, Babin, and Harris would be let go.

I'll play, even though I can't really evaluate this without a lot more knowledge than I currently have.

    I'd be most happy with:
    Hue Jackson
    Quinn

    I'd be OK with:
    Bowles
    Kubiak

    Not so thrilled with:
    Mora

    NO.
    Mike Smith
    Cable
    Gase

Best: Brian Kelly (Notre Dame) Similar to Chip Kelly at Philadelphia. Real good with offensive football and can coach QB's. Dying to get out of ND.
    Worst: Rob Ryan

There is no best case scenario with any of these candidates

Is Gary Kubiak really a better coach then Rex Ryan?Did you see the talent on those Texans teams?are you kidding me we want this guy?

What about Mike Shannahan?Atleast he has won a Superbowl even tho I hate him to but who else is there?

DAN Quinn?I don't know what to make of this guy

Todd Bowles?I like the idea of him but that's because of the options at hand here

TOM Cable?id smash my head thru a wall if this happens

Adam Gase:No thanks we don't have Peyton Manning at QB

    Frank Reich:no thanks

Josh Mcdaniels:Another Belicheat clone who got caught recording peoples practices in Denver ,scumbag

There just isn't one guy here that gets you excited where you say "That's Him That's our guy!!!!"

If a new GM is hired before rex finds a job, do you think there is any chance hes hired back? I mean i know its a long shot but im looking at these candidates and I dont really want anything to do with them.

Quinn - team is loaded with defensive studds and an offense that keeps them off the field.
Kubiak - Is basically the offensive version of rex ryan, although he had that 2-14 season after his medical incident.
Bowles - Is basically rex ryan light, has great players but (so far) performed worse then rex's D when he had great players (09-10)
Gase - guy is a mannequin, payton manning is the OC.

the rest are college coaches which is boom or bust.

Best case if cards fall right - Jason Garrett
Best available HC - Gary Kubiak
Worst available - anyone from the Seattle Sea Hawks organization (see Idzick, John)

Best - HC of a college system or Quinn

Worst - Jim Mora or Cable

And I can't believe Jim Mora or McDaniels are even considered for Head Coaching positions. One destroyed Denver in 2 seasons and the other lasted 1 season in Seattle, I'll pass on them.
