Except there was a ton of evidence against Big Ben and police officers got fired helping his posse cover it up.
SO if what you think happens and Petty becomes a first day pick, why not trade the 6 pick for lower and another pick, get petty and another player needed? That would be the win. The Jets are far from a one player turnaround team. A QB and a CB or another O lineman would be ok...
Bradford is due like $16 million in salary if he's on the roster in STL next season...he's either gonna re-do his deal or get cut (or traded with a re-done deal I imagine with the new team).
Sign Bradford if possible and trade for K Cousins. Also draft a guy mid rounds. Sign a couple starting calibre OL.
The next several months will be interesting. If he declares for the NFL...ESPN, NFL network and a lot of teams will be digging up the dirt and wanting the inside info. Being a Nole fan I belive FSU and the boosters have covered up more than a few of his off field issues. I do think he has top ten QB tallent but wonder where his head is.
With good coaching and some more experience Geno Smith will be a good NFL QB. He can make all the throws and seems to have a good feel for the position. We expect too much too soon. Last year Romo was a bum now he is a hero. Work with Geno and he can be a solid NFL signal caller.
From what I am reading, there are many scouts and nfl executives that have Hundley higher than Mariota in regards to talent. Interesting.
Can you post what you're reading? I don't know much about Hundley but I thought UCLA also ran a spread offense (not a pro style offense, at the very least), meaning Hundley should be comparable to Mariota. Yet Mariota's stats are much, much better. What have these scouts been saying?
Here's one article I read about it: http://www.bucsnation.com/2015/1/5/7495403/are-the-buccaneers-interested-in-brett-hundley
