Lost in this is Falco saying Sanchez did well in Philly. If someone honestly believes that statement then its no surprise they would want to give him another shot. The problem is he didn't do well in Philly. He was set up better than any QB in the league with weapons and a system that caters to QBs yet he couldn't get it done. He was the exact same Sanchez he was with us. Long story short: no, because he isn't good and we already have a QB that isn't good.
He's not a good QB and we shouldn't be looking for mediocre to bad to complement our current stable of mediocre to bad QB's.
We'll be having bad Sanchez threads until we find the right QB. The Jets badly over marketed themselves in 2009 and 2010. They went overboard on Revis and Sanchez respectively on the defense and the offense. We're going to be living with that reality until the side the figurehead played on is performing very well with somebody else in the position.
I'm sorry man, but this post is beyond deluded. Chip Kelly wasn't liking what he was seeing out of Nick Foles out to 6-2 and then Foles got hurt. Kelly undoubtedly retched privately at what he saw out of Sanchez on the way to a 4-4 finish and no playoffs.
I think Kelly would trade Sanchez for Smith in a heartbeat at this point. He's going to keep turning over his roster at the position until he finds somebody he trusts. Nick Foles would be an interesting look for the Jets. He's got an average arm but he's got a good head on his shoulders.
If I'm reading this correctly, the question in this thread is whether: (a) the Jets attempt to resign Sanchez, or (b) the Jets do not attempt to resign Sanchez. The answer is clearly (b). As noted by other posters, the Jets are most likely to start the winner of a competition between some combination of Smith, Simms, [Insert Cheap Veteran QB], and [Insert Rookie QB]. I just don't see Sanchez filling that Cheap Veteran QB role. The Jets already have Geno Smith and Simms, both of him have experience and seem to fit that mold. If they will likely go in a different direction if they seek an experienced veteran, even if it's Schaub or some other subpar player. Apart from Bradford and Cutler, I do not see them investing significantly (picks or compensation) for anyone that is currently rumored to be available. This is especially true of Sanchez, who will likely seek a starting position and higher pay than last year. However, Sanchez, given his excellent durability and his penchant for turnovers, appears to be ideally suited to be a backup on a successful team. That isn't the Jets.
Aw hell no! How many playoff games hasGeno won? How many games has Geno completed without turning the ball over? We would be lucky to get a six pack of beer for Geno at this point.
C'mon! We should bring back Sanchez. And Kellen Clemmons. And Brooks Bollinger. They can compete with Geno and Matt Simms. We can finally find out who is the best of the worst. (My money is on Rick Mirer).
no because there is zero chance in hell mark comes back here....he wants to start somewhere fresh, this would not be a good spot for him. so even if we want to, he won't be back.
I'll bet Kelly would be interested. He's running something very close to a full air raid at the NFL level.
The biggest issue is, that there is no one else out there. The Jets can't bring Sanchez back because they are gearing up for an entire new rebuild. You cant bring back a past QB for that, especially one with Sanchez's checkered history. I think Geno gets one more year, if for no other reasons there isn't a better option out there... All others would be backups, and if they can't play for St. Louis full time, what makes people think they can play for the Jets full time? I dont know what the answer is, but I know its not Sanchez...
I could throw for 200 in Chip Kelly's offense. People are enamored with yards. They should be concerned about losses when everything is on the line. The guy is a flinger.
After he basically torpedoed the Eagles chances at the playoffs while leading the NFL in turnovers over the weeks he started?! ah...no
Let's bring Keller and Greene for 3 back and we will be a dynasty, fuck it get Clyde Gates on the phone to and tell him to call Chaz Schillenz
In all seriousnes I would say yes because he is the best veteran qb avialable in free agency.Who else is there wtf r we gonna do?If Mark Sanchez is the best available option .......just pray we figure out a way to move up in round one
