Winston and Mariota will likely be out of reach and chances are we take a guy late for youth, but do any of you think we go after Sanchez again? Proven NFL talent, seems to be doing very well under a new offensive minded coaching staff, and we are on a fresh slate now. Also considering, he is the best free agent option at QB this offseason. I'm all for bringing him back cheap.
It's just not going to happen. When Woody fired Rex and Idzik a few days ago, he was not just firing our coaching staff and front office leadership; he was cleaning slate. He was forging the future of this franchise by getting rid of the past. Woody was essentially saying the following: We can't clutch to those AFC games any more..it's been far too long. It's time for bigger and better things. We're going to have a new coach. A new GM. A new Jets organization. We will not be going back to an old Qb. It just won't happen even if it makes football sense (which it doesn't, though that's debatable)
It's a good argument to make. I understand the turnover problems, but do you think the new coaching staff and GM will go into the season with Geno Smith and a rookie QB? One that will likely be taken late in the draft? The only other options on the market are McCoy, who I want no part of, and Mark Sanchez. Its hard to imagine we go into next year with Geno Smith as our guy. The only other option is an unproven draft pick?
are you fucking serious? no, mark sanchez is not very good. i would think it would be obvious to everyone other than junc, i guess thats not the case.
Yes I am fuckin serious. And it is a very hot topic right now after these firings. Will new coaching bring him back. And what he's doing in Philly is not the product of a "not very good" QB.
I don't know how anyone can possibly want Mark Sanchez back. It's like they forget how bad he was here. He helped tear this franchise down. He was embarrassing and just because the new guy may be the same thing doesn't mean you go back to the original bum. He didn't exactly light it up in Philly either, "what he was doing" well he was continuing to throw game ending interceptions. Have some pride.
And even if he was a good quaterback which he absolutely is not and it's amazing that only jet fans would be debating this he would never come back here... Ever
He helped tear this franchise down? Are you fuckin retarded? I won't even get into that argument because you clearly are fuckin retarded. Sanchez has done extremely well in Philly and is light years better than anything we have now and likely will have in the short future.
I told you, I am not getting involved in this argument here. This isn't a thread about that. This is a thread about whether people believe we will go after Sanchez again this coming offseason.
