1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – 2. Tennessee Titans – 3. Jacksonville Jaguars – 4. Oakland Raiders – 5. Washington Redskins – 6. New York Jets – This is how I see it going: 1) Tampa - Marcus Mariota, QB 2) Tennessee - Jameis Winston, QB 3) Jacksonville - Randy Gregory, DE 4) Oakland - Leonard Williams , DT 5) Washington - Brandon Scherff, OT 6) New York Jets - Amari Cooper, WR We can all look at who here gets the picks correctly as we get closer...My gut tells me if Titans pass on Winston, he will be a Jet
TB - Jameis Winston TEN - Marcus Mariota JAC - Leonard Williams OAK - Randy Gregory CLE - Amari Cooper NYG - Brandon Scherff
You see us trading with the New York freaking Giants? I also wouldnt be surprised if Jameis went 1st if he has a great last 2 games and combine
I have a feeling Cooper is picked before us, even if it's because another team trades up to get him. I think we end up with the best OL available (my guess is Scherff) or we trade back and probably still pick up the best available OL or maybe a pass rush OLB/DE. It's not as flashy as Cooper or a new QB but it solidifies huge areas of need.
Interesting tidbit I just read, Tennessee would most likely pass on Mariota and Winston. They believe in Mettenberger.
If TEN passes on a QB, barring any trade ups... what teams ahead of us are a risk to take the remaining QB ?
Mariota wont drop but if for some reason Tampa goes with Winston and Ten goes defense, we trade like hell with Jacksonville for Mariota. None of the other teams need s QB, but Dan Snyder can be crazy
This will change 10000 times before the draft but right now I'd go with Tampa - Mariota Tennesee - Gregory Jax - Williams Oakland - Cooper Washington - Scherff New York - Ray/Beasley/Thompson some type of defensive guy just because we're the jets
That could just be coach speak too. The Raiders COULD, but I don't think it's likely. They would probably go Cooper there. Even tho it's possible a QB could fall, it's much more likely that a different team would trade up in front of us.
It's also still early, if Winston goes and beats Oregon and Alabama and has an impressive showing, it would be hard for Tenn to pass on him.
Whisenhunt may be on the hot seat next season, and the GM may be as well, I'm not sure they'll place their fate in the hands of a raw, rookie Quarterback. It's very early, but I think we're going to come out of the 2015 draft with either Mariota or Winston. And if we can get a strict head coach ,along the lines of Dan Quinn, I'm willing to take a shot on Winston.
TB- QB Marcus Mariota TEN- DT Leo. Williams JAX- DE Randy Gregory OAK- WR Amari Cooper WSH- OT Ronnie Stanley NYJ- QB Jameis Winston I mentioned that in another thread, I agree exactly with that mindset. I just can't see both guys in TEN with their jobs on the line using the 2nd overall pick on a QB, they would go with a quick fix in Williams IMO.
I was also reading an article this morning (forget where, maybe bleacher report?) that said that whiesenhunt over his entire career has always stayed away from rookie QBs and that as history shows he would much rather start a vet and bench the rook... being that there are some good prospects in the later rounds (hundley, grayson etc) he may opt for a Defensive stud with that pick or even cooper and skip on winston/mariota!
This is what I want to happen: 1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Jameis Winston, QB 2. Tennessee Titans – Marcus Mariota, QB 3. Jacksonville Jaguars – Randy Gregory, DE/OLB 4. Oakland Raiders – Leonard Williams, DE 5. Washington Redskins – Shane Ray, DE/OLB 6. New York Jets – Amari Cooper, WR This is what I think will happen: 1. Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Marcus Mariota, QB 2. Tennessee Titans – Leonard Williams, DE 3. Jacksonville Jaguars – Randy Gregory, DE/OLB 4. Oakland Raiders – Amari Cooper, WR 5. Washington Redskins – Jameis Winston, QB 6. New York Jets – Shane Ray, DE/OLB
