What makes you believe this? He's made his way up the rankings (just with the Patriots, not with another team), and isn't a true GM as BB can override anything the scouting department wants. I think there are better prospects out there. I disagree that he's the "best"
Man... most teams have candidates deciding whether or not they want the job. We have candidates that are deciding whether or not they even want to interview. One hell of an environment Woody's create here. The fanbase doesn't go without blame either.
Yeah - well this has been a pattern for him. He didn't want to come here 2 years ago. Didn't interview with the Rams and someone else who I can't recall right now (might be Dolphins)
Rex will get a new head coaching position. With the amount of jobs availiable its hard to imagine that rex will not be at least interviewed if not hired. Teams either hire a retread coach who was fired or they hire a DC or OC. Same with gms, either hire a retread gm or hire someone who hasn't been a gm before. Contrary to the belief that we shouldn't hire rookie gms or rookie hcs, new gms and new hcs do not just spring from the ground or appear out of thin air. People have to start somewhere. Most hcs are either ocs or dcs, new gms are hired from other front office positions. So this notion that we shouldn't hire rookie gms and hcs is nonsensical.
After a rookie GM in John Idzik got fired after only 2 seasons, I can't say I necessarily blame other candidates for being skeptical. The NY media and fanbase here is unbearable, it really is.
Call us Seattle East! By 2030 everyone in their office will have been our GM.. I kid.. evidently this guy is impressive.
@BrianCostello Confirmed the Jets have requested permission to talk to Seahawks director of pro personnel Trent Kirchner, as @RapSheet reported. #nyj
Fool me once as they say. Pete and Schneider built that Seattle team. Makes me nervous to go back to that well.
