To answer the bold, the thing I find most endearing about Ryan is that he doesn't just love being a HC but he loves being the HC of the Jets. In the end if it is just an act it has been a very convincing one. I am/was certainly fooled.
MM was the perfect hire for the way Smith plays, it just didn't pan out. Blame him for Sparano, because that hire was terrible. I won't blame him for MM though. Hindsight is 20/20, MM was the right hire at the time.
Rex was horrible this year. I don't know why the players' opinions matter when they were equally ineffective and inept.
You Rex fanboys just don't get it. It's not necessarily a good thing that the Jets players are so infatuated with Rex. This has been pointed out ad nauseam already, but a lot of top coaches in NFL history have been disliked by some of their players. The head coach isn't there to be best friends with the players, he's there to get them to play up to the best of their abilities, week in and week out. He's there to hold them accountable for their mistakes and make the adjustments necessary to get them over the top in close games. He's there to get them to win, not to be a fun-loving cheerleader.
Plenty of times. A lot of Parcells, Shula, and Landry players have been well-documented to have issues with their coaches. BB has had issues with many players over the years. Again, the guy holding you accountable for your quality of professional performance should not necessarily be your best friend.
Great logic! I am a Rex fan, so that means if I go out there and lose while I'm on his team, that means I just didn't play hard enough. It has nothing to do with the fact that I am just not cut out to be a starter in the NFL talent-wise, it just means I really didn't try hard enough for my coach.

If his players loved him and wanted him back so bad, then why did they let him down this year with pedestrian play and lack of preparation week after week?
BB has better coaches around him. BB didn;' We certainly had better talent than 4-12, but we underachieved week after week. That is on the coach.

Really? The BEST defensive mind in the game? In the last 6 years, other teams WITHOUT the best defensive mind in football have won the Super Bowl, and NOT the Jets. Thats just bullshit to say that. If he is such a defensive "guru" like everyone thinks, then why couldn`t he simply devise an offense that can beat his own defense? It`s not rocket science. It`s a friggin game.
Well you seem to have it all figured out. If you have to wonder why those teams won the Superbowl and the Jets didnt then I dont know what to say to you. But I'll play along...name me a coach in the last 10 years that has even gotten to the playoffs with a QB as bad as Sanchez. Not to mention.. In 09-10 Rex made a good defense great In 2011-13 he made an average defense good This year he made a horrible defense average. Not his fault that the GM has constantly failed him every single season in getting quality players on the roster. 2015 will most likely be a rude awakening for a lot of Jet fans. My prediction is 5 games into next season you'll be begging for Rex.
This post would be a lot more powerful if Rex was our defensive coordinator over the last six seasons, instead of, our head coach. After all, as our head coach, I'm pretty sure he is at least partially responsible for the decidedly below average offense (and downright putrid passing attack) that we fielded during his tenure. It's funny. The Rex fanboys make the same fatal flaw that Rex does: They incessantly obsess over his defenses and not his teams. For the billionth time, I don't care what kind of defensive genius the guy is, I care about what kind of head coach he is.
