“If I thought I could have gotten Darrelle for [what New England paid] I probably would have taken him,” Johnson said. “I’d love for him to come back.” http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.co...ween-idzik-and-ryan-while-discussing-firings/ This isn't the first time he has done this, if you remember: http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/20...dy_johnson_violate_nfls_tampering_policy.html Whether it was intentional or not isn't clear but what is clear is that he violated the league policy: Any public or private statement of interest, qualified or unqualified, in another club's player or that player's agent or representative, or to a member of the news media, is a violation of this Anti-Tampering Policy. (Example of a prohibited comment: “He’s an excellent player, and we’d very much like to have him if he were available, but another club holds his rights.”) The question is not whether or not he tampered, but rather what is the punishment. Cash, draft picks, both or second warning?
Relax PatsFan. Its not like Woody had HDCams filming your practices so lets just drop the draconian punishment shall we.. Another warning at most.
It's not a big deal, It's not like we were caught cheating or something.. Oh noes.. Woody made a comment about a former player of his, that is just awful, we should probably lose our first and second round picks in this draft. Matter of fact, we should probably be made to just hand those two picks right on over to the Patriots for such a serious infraction. Please man. If that was all it took for Revis to come back to the NYJ, he would already be a NYJ. Stupid thread.
It really is funny It's either a warning or possibly a fine. The Jets aren't losing a draft pick. We're not cheaters like the Patriots have been proven to be.
Here is an example of punishment where there seemed to be little proof of the tampering: http://sfo.scout.com/story/740323-nfl-hits-niners-hard-with-tampering-penalty I personally think it will only be a fine, but with dictator Goodell, you never know what is going to happen.
It's tampering to say you wish you had a player on other team? I'm sure he'd like to have Aaron Rodgers too. It's really tampering if he said that? Either way I suspect no punishment. The NFL is really loose with tampering (case 1: The Patriots acquisition of Wes Welker)
How many times has Rex said "Shoot, we'd love to have ____, but we don't"? I don't understand how it would be tampering when your owner says it but not when your coach says it.
Shouldn't Patsies be looking forward to another playoff loss? Why are you here? Go away, the meth is done cooking.
