I agree with you there. I will definitely miss Rex ... but I do think we can do better going forward.
Not really - they either had a top tier QB starting for them (or an elite defense)* *or in the case of the Giants - the greatest slices of luck ever
Rex will win you some games on defense for sure. He's failed to find an OC that can compliment him - wherever it be a conservative OC like Schotty or an aggressive one like Marty. I think the real reason for all of the failures is the awful selections in the draft. I'm not sure how much input Rex has on the draft, but when it comes to building a team the Jets failed miserably. For that, I think it's time for a new vision all together.
so glad idzik is gone he did everything he could to sabotage rex ryan and he did such a good job he got himself fried also
So glad Rex is gone. He did everything in his power to undermine Idzik with his leaks to his buddies in the media, got himself run out of town in the process.
So glad Rex and Idzik are gone. They both did everything they could to turn the Jets into a highschool junior varsity team.
Don't disagree with most of this. I don't think Idzik had any great draft, but I don't think there was enough there to can him; yet. I would have thought he deserved at least one more off season. With the shit storm this fan base gave Idzik he would have felt the gun to his head to make big moves in Free Agency, someone else has the shot now.
Idzik is the one who help field the crapfest we just watched. The only raw deal that was given was to the fans
Not true. The guy that won in 2005 coaches a lot like that guys that won in 2002 and 2004. I see some similarities between the guys that won in 2008 and 2012 as well, but the 2012 guy's face was a LOT redder.
I do not think you can associate the word "courageous" with Woody Johnson. Listening to him at the presser scared me shitless.
No problem, my friend. I thought you had just used the wrong word, as previously we both seemed to be in agreement that there needed to be a house cleaning.
I'm just glad that jerk Idzik got fired too, after he tried to sabotage Rex to bring in his own guy. Idiot. If he just supported Rex and didn't wreck his defensive backfield, they would both still have their jobs! What goes around comes around Idiotzik, hope you learned your lesson!
Nice post but please don't put Rex in a class with Bill Parcells. I watched the Jets play under Weeb and they got us our only SB. So Rex doesn't go on that level either as Eubanks teams made NFL history. Some say Joe Namath and Don Maynard would change all of Weebs calls in the huddle but the Defense and the rest of the 68-69 team was excellent.
Charley Casserly is excellent advisor. Pulls no punches and should give Woody tongue lashing if Johnson doesn't listen!!
I'll bet you all the footballs in Germany that Bradway is gone. When the draft was mentioned he went on for about 2 minutes about the types of players to win. Oviously he knows the where the malfunction gear is!
Seeing Belichek three times makes me wonder how stupid the Jets were in not being able to keep him around. Do you realize Tom Brady would have fallen to us, all things being equal??? There would be no moaning and groaning...no 48 years and counting.
I think they ARE in the same class. Both were confident. Both went to the AFC Championship game, but no further for the Jets. Two differences: one had Belicheck, Lawrence Taylor, and a great QB and OL. The other one is Rex Ryan.
