I know. He's earned it. I just find it interesting that he (of all people) is giving an honest assessment rather than the revisionist history crap that most writers are spewing about Rex right now
regarding bradway.....most situations like this evolve over the next few weeks without firing everyone at once. there has to be at least 1 holdover from NFL personnel and from NCAA personnel. Without knowing the overall structure of the department I would say at least 2-3 folks, including bra, dway will stay on with the new GM and remaining positions will be churned and ultimately filled by the GM with "his" people. if u were just hired as GM, would u want someone like bradway around - at least thru the first 6 months or so. put the draft record aside. I think I would.
Scout contracts expire after the draft. If the scouting dept is let go today there would not be scouts available to replace them. Other teams are not going to allow scouts to leave now and take all there reports with them.
You have to believe that if they hire a "football" guy, then Bradway is almost certain to go. He was kept largelybecause the last two "GMs" were cap guys,
I wonder how Wolf and Casserly will explain to Woody that the best head coaching candidate available is the one he just fired.
yes some departments are set up like that, others are more traditional calendar expirations. really depends on the owner and GM and what they are comfortable with.
Even if this was true, you assume the new coach/scouting team are coming from within the NFL. I'm not sure what you mention applies to Bradway here though.
Playoffs in 1998, 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006 and first and only division titles in history. But Rex brought us back to relevancy? Sorry all Rex has done is undermine the respectable that PARCELLS brought back to us. Give me a fucking break. What he gave us was giving the finger in a drunken stupor, foot gate, Tebow, the wildcat and being a fucking laughing stock and joke in the NFL. Guy is an embarrassment to himself and this franchise -- I have been waiting a long time for this day. Idzik on the other got a raw deal. Time will judge that his 2013 draft was very good and his 2014 will be okay.
I agree and most die hards, when asked what that problem is, would not be able to give a complete well thought answer.....which is not a knock on those fans but a glimpse of how convoluted, frustrating, and puzzling this franchise has been for the last 3 generations. unfortunately I think for us to see a wholesale turnaround the team needs to be sold - to the right buyer. and that aint happening anytime soon
As sad as this day is for me, I'm glad Woody is finally recognizing the need that this organization has for a fresh start. His decisions in the upcoming months are extremely important. Hopefully he doesn't mess up.
Give me a break. You are fuckin clueless if you think Idzik was given a bad gig and didn't deserved to be fired. I don't think there's one football person on this fuckin planet that didn't agree with that firing.
